I think eCash is the first real test of an idea we’ve argued about in CT for years, and it’s hard forking Bitcoin tmr is rly interesting thing to watch
As i mentioned earlier, @BTCdrivechains is finally shipping.
Invented by @Truthcoin, Sidechains can run their own rules while the peg is handled by hashrate escrow instead of a federation.
If one of them gets real usage, BTC gains the utility and miners get extra fees. If it dies, nothing happens.
What happens at the fork:
> If you hold BTC in self-custody, you get ECX 1:1 auto
> If your BTC is on CEX, you’re relying on the exchange to credit you
> 7 sidechains launch with mainnet (payments, privacy, quantum-resistant, etc.).
So, if you want to get $ECX easier, better to move your BTC to your own wallet
After the fork, a normal BTC transaction can also spend your ECX until you split the coins. It’s a one-time thing.
