We filmed the “Seaside” in the spring and released it in the summer… finally, this video is (at least in LA) weather-appropriate. #popnoir #seaside #rain

Here’s a quick rendition of 1 of our fav festive tunes - Cristina’s “Things Fall Apart”. Released on ZE Records’ 1981 “A Christmas Record” (the same LP that launched another Yuletide banger, “Christmas Wrapping”) it’s the perfect balance of gloomy & groovy. See you next year. Xx

Heading out to SXSW for the premiere of Jillian Bell’s new film, “Summer of 69” — we have 3 songs in the movie and we’re DJing the afterparty. If you can’t make it to TX this week, just keep an eye on @hulu’s “Top Movies” chart this summer - you’ll find “69” at number 1! Xx

Have you seen these boys? 15 years ago today, on November 16th, 2009, Pop Noir’s debut single was released into the world! Self-recorded, self-produced and even featuring a self-directed video that we managed to get into rotation on MTV, the appropriately titled “DIY”…

… as we serendipitously found a forgotten box of the records (and t-shirts!) in an Orange County storage unit. And next Friday, a fully remixed, remastered version of DIY and its b-side In Like a Lion will be available on Spotify, iTunes etc.

In honor of Johnny Marr’s birthday, I’ve told the tale of how I made myself look a pillock in front of him and Bernard Sumner ... brought A Certain Ratio’s DoJo back down to Earth with a bump ... and shared a “Biographic" comic telling Marr’s lifestory. open.substack.com/pub/artoft…
