I hired someone to be a moderator. And within hours, they told my other mods "Don't tell Yomi, but I have a crush on her."
I'm really glad said mods shared me the messages, because that was my "WTF" moment. And we handled it properly.
It was scary because I really trusted them. And then I found out they were parasocial, trying to keep secrets from me as a trusted mod, were trying to make secret crush videos, and even nearly lost other mods because it scared them too. I don't mind being in an idol space and even knowing community members can get that way. But as a Mod who I let into my inner circle, this was scary.
