Happy #StargateDay! ๐
32 years ago today, the film that laid the foundations for a wonderful sci-fi universe was released.
The fans are still here, waiting for a new chapter that stays true to the legacy we love. #SaveStargate

Look at these different eulogies for Walter Koenig.
Shatner didn't know him well, but professionally respected him, wrote it about him.
Takei made it all about himself, his gay marriage.
This is what the SJWs do every time. They co-opt every situation, make it about their narcissism and their fetishes so you can never be left alone about it.
It's not about being left alone or civil rights with them, it's about making everything about THEM.

if steve jobs saw you reserving 15% screen width for a single icon and then putting a left side arrow back button on the unreachable right side of the screen he would've personally taken you behind a dumpster and beat you with a metal pipe

For anyone still hoping for some form of continuation under the newly appointed Stargate showrunner, @MichaelShanks effectively settled the matter in a recent podcast.
He said the @martingero series was cancelled because it still "smelled" too much like the original show. Amazon has made it clear they want a "fresh" perspective.
Shanks noted that the cancelled version had only a thin thread of connection to what came before, yet that was still enough for Amazon to reject it. Heโs skeptical the new take will feel meaningfully connected to the existing franchise.
Bummer..

Mark my words: Blair Fetter and his superiors are going to regret how they handled the Stargate IP and its fandom. It might take a few years, but the chickens will come home to roost.
I'd expect nothing less from former Netflix executives, though. Such a shame... #SaveStargate

True.
I am however pretty annoyed to see accusations of sexism already being slung at what is one of the most wholesome and inclusive fan scenes in scifi.
If Amanda, who has production and directing chops, was announced as a showrunner, we'd be doing cartwheels.

Amazon Sparks โStargateโ Fan Revolt After Scrapping Franchise Veteran for Divisive โWandaVisionโ Creator
โAmazon MGM Studios has managed to infuriate portions of the Stargate fanbase before filming a single episode of its latest attempt to revive the beloved science-fiction franchise. The studio is reportedly handing the property to Jac Schaeffer, the creator of Marvel Studiosโ WandaVision and Agatha All Along, just four months after abandoning a revival developed by an established Stargate veteran.
The decision is particularly controversial given Schaeffer's history with Marvel, where she faced criticism over her treatment of established comic book characters and openly admitted struggling to understand the source material she was adapting.โ
