@PopupOperaUK Do try and see La Tragédie de Carmen by PopUpOpera. I saw it at The Andaz Masonic Hall last night to a sell out audience. 90 minutes of extraordinary singing, acting and more emotion than I can remember seeing in any Carmen production. Do not miss it.

Wonderfully stark production in a secret Masonic temple. And Satoshi Kubo, @PopupOperaUK repetiteur,(another former collaborator) astonishing, as always.

Bloody hell, just saw @PopupOperaUK do Carmen. That’s an Espresso Martini of a show. Full ten seconds of stunned silence at the end before any of us could move to applaud. Tour de force. Coup de foudre. Bravo.

“Though it may be much smaller in scale than a traditional performance of Carmen, there’s nothing half-hearted about this production, which brims over throughout with passion, intensity and obvious talent.”
