In my original D&D campaign (1974-77), one of the dungeonmasters decided he wanted an all-evil campaign. We figured out XP and advancement for kobolds, goblins, orcs, hobgoblins, and gnolls. Everyone's first character was a gnoll. But if you got killed, your next character was only a hobgoblin, which was objectively inferior (getting only 1+1 hit dice per level, instead of 2 like a gnoll). Then if you died again, you had to be an orc. And so forth till you bottomed out at kobold. This meant that players who'd survived longer not only had higher level characters, but a big hit dice advantage. A 6th level hobgoblin had 6+6 hit dice. A 6th level goblin had 6 MINUS-6 hit dice. Ugh. Since everyone was evil, we mercilessly bullied each other. When it got too bad, the weaker characters banded together against the strong ones. Despite the fact we were all fighters (the only character class available to goblinoids, or "giant class" humanoids as the original book categorized them), we got to a decently high level. It helped that we all had darkvision and could open every dungeon door automatically (says so in the rules), and we could talk to most of the monsters in the dungeon. The campaign ended when after a heated fight, we found a suit of +5 magic plate armor. Naturally, the highest-ranking player, a 13th level Hobgoblin, claimed it for himself. The entire rest of the party immediately joined together against this, because if the hobgoblin had +5 plate, he would be unstoppable and our existence would be intolerable. Basically, he'd take ALL the treasure from now on. So began the final battle. The 13th level hobgoblin vs. everyone else. I think the next-highest level was a 9th level orc (not me). The weakest was a 4th level kobold. Anyway the hobgoblin rationally focussed on killing the lower-level enemies first, because all of us did the same damage when we hit, so killing us reduced his incoming damage. Pretty soon, everyone was dead except for the hobgoblin and the orc. The orc was almost unscathed, because the hobgoblin had been finishing off the rabble. The fight seemed pretty even. The hobgoblin had fewer hit points by then, but he had a better THAC0. Well, the fight had been going on for 30 combat rounds when the gamemaster rolled for a random encounter (once every 10 rounds, like it says in the book) and got one. A gigantic hydra walked into the room. Our then house-rules for hydras made them specially deadly, and only if both surviving fighters teamed up would they have a chance against it. They looked at each other. Then they looked at the hydra. Then back at each other. All in real time you understand. Then they literally shrugged, and went back to bashing each other. The hydra was in its glory, randomly striking at both opponents while being mainly ignored. Both characters died. It was glorious, and we did not start up the "evil" campaign again, because it had ended perfectly. True story from the dark ages of D&D.

So much of American immigration policy over the last 60 years has just been about trying to prove that you’re a heckin’ good person rather than asking the basic question of whether it was in the interests of the American people to import large numbers of foreigners from across the world who had nothing in common with them.

I'm passing this on to @JohnnyLCKai who seeded him 65th! Not even 66th!
The Star Wars prequels are back in the public consciousness lately, so I wanted to talk about how much Palpatine’s rise to power is one of the greatest villain arcs of all time. When it comes to the prequels, so many people naturally focus on Anakin’s journey towards the Dark Side, the flaws of the Jedi Order, or the general controversy of how different generations either love or hate the trilogy. But I really think a vastly overlooked topic is the plot surrounding the disintegration of the Galactic Republic and Palpatine’s eventual triumph at the end of Revenge of the Sith. This is a man who manufactures crisis after crisis to first depose the previous Supreme Chancellor, wins a sympathy vote to succeed him, orchestrates a civil war where he’s secretly in control of both sides, and ultimately uses the conflict to wipe out his political rivals, overthrow the political order they had created thousands of years earlier, and convert the very Galactic Republic that the Jedi had once defended against the Sith into a Galactic Empire ruled by the Sith themselves. It’s genius writing, overlooked by a combination of fandom controversies regarding the films themselves and the fact that Anakin, Obi Wan, and Padme usually overshadow Palpatine in the prequels. The fact that the Jedi spent millennia fighting the Sith on the battlefield, only to allow them to secretly hijack their own Republic and then weaponize it against them when Order 66 comes down proves that the Sith are the true political realists of the galaxy, while the Jedi are the metaphysical liberals attempting to abolish politics itself. But politics can’t ever be abolished. The tragedy of the prequels is that the Jedi essentially promise a galaxy without conflict, and by the time conflict inevitably reappears after a postwar consensus that has lasted a thousand years, they’ve lost the ability to deal with it.

Both of these carry a sort of joi de vivre to things. But Palpatine is a standout. Our beacon of joy amidst otherwise "downer" characters who spend most of their time moping. No wonder he wanted to kill them all with blue lightning!

Leftism has always been about the acquisition and consolidation of power. Which is precisely why you see a complete lack of principles, intellectual honesty, or consistency among Leftist advocates. Those things are only a means to an end and if the end requires jettisoning them, so be it. The ability to hold mutually contradictory positions on a variety of issues enables them to assemble a larger coalition to obtain political power. This is why you see the far-Left embrace both Islam and Transgenderism at the same time. It’s how they can claim that everything is violence except for actual violence, which is simply an act of “decolonization” to be publicly celebrated. It’s also why they can endorse the Nazi ideology of “blood and soil” when it comes to claims of “stolen” or “occupied” land, while simultaneously arguing for open borders and declaring that “no immigrant is illegal.” The ability to hold mutually contradictory positions on a variety of issues enables them to assemble a larger coalition to obtain political power.

She doesn’t need violence. She is on the side of power. Power protects her, lets her threaten her enemies without consequence. Power does not protect TP USA, if they threaten or try to impose consequences on those who threaten them then they will be punished. It’s that simple.
So bizarre when ppl who have zero capacity for violence celebrate it as a means to resolving issues. Forget shooting, how many people could punch her in the face for this and she’d have zero recourse? Countless.

I don’t know if this is brave or stupid..especially when you could just walk around the wall to get a better angle. I guess it’s better than them trying to scam old people into buying them a Wal Mart gift card while pretending to be Amazon customer service.

The power of the Atlantis Stone has been unleashed. I had Kermit bring as many VHS tapes that he could find so we could bring things to life in this first wave attack on The Valley. I will have my revenge now. Hell is coming to get Danny Boy and then the world. #TerrySilver
