SE 17th Ave is reopen to traffic after a leak was discovered yesterday afternoon. Crews worked to locate what turned out to be a quarter inch crack in an 8-inch cast iron water main. The main was successfully repaired with a full circle repair clamp. Thanks for your patience, and to the crews who worked into the evening to make the repair.

When Memorial Day traffic exacerbated a water leak on Powell Blvd, Portland Water Bureau crews leapt into action—coordinating street closures with @CityofGresham , excavating one of the largest pipes in our system, making a repair, and refilling the street so that traffic could resume before the next morning. All in less than 24hours. Thanks for working into the early hours of the day for Portland, team! Read more: bit.ly/49r5opx

Someone is stealing water meter lids from the #Sellwood area. Meter lids are owned by the City, which means they are owned by all Portlanders. Help us protect our shared infrastructure. Be our eyes and ears: if you see something, say something.

If you see a meter box with a missing lid, report it to customer service at 503-823-7770 or [email protected]. If you see a theft in progress or have information about the thefts, call Water Bureau security at 503-823-6084. Do not confront the thief.

Meter lids play an important role in our water system. Water meters are the point where your home or building connects to our drinking water system. Meter lids protect meters and these connections from the environment or accidental damage. Without lids, meter boxes are a safety risk that could cause people to trip or fall.
