In the US we tolerate random horrific violence against good people in the name of social justice. Complete inversion of morality.

They freely admit it because they don't think there's anything wrong with this. It's celebrated in their culture. Their genetics screams at them from a scarcity mindset that they must jugaad Halloween candy. If we saw this behavior under a microscope we would call it parasitic.

An entire generation had to die in the wilderness because of their rebellion, pride, and unbelief.
Only after they were gone, did the younger generations receive the promise.
I think about this often.

James Young, in his Marse Robert: Knight of the Confederacy on the bond of feeling between the Southern Yeoman and Southern Cavalier:
"The first cavaliers had been aristocrats of the blue vintage, and the South of '61 remained mediæval, dividing broadly between rich men and poor men, the knights and the villeins. Between them was the merchant class, the doctors, the dominies, measurably Scottish in origin. This social institution had the merits and the weaknesses of medieval times. There was a gulf between the man who owned a thousand acre plantation and half a thousand slaves, compared to the farmer who might own one or two slaves, a half dozen, or none whatever. Yet this gulf was not so great in fact as it looked in appearance. In this day when American classes are more strongly defined than they ever were in colonial history, it becomes difficult to make the Southern social institution a matter of easy comprehension. The South never knew the bitterness that marks industrial democracy. The farmer born to his ten acres, or to his 200, did not feel it an affront that his neighbor, a cavalier, should own a thousand. He respected his richer neighbor. There was no such impetuous striving for money and place. On the day that a plantation owner rode over his acres he would stop at the farmer's door to join him in a cold draught from the well, or a nip of last fall's brandy. He knew the farmer's wife and his children. They were very good friends. In need the rich man might befriend the poor one. Both were proud, the farmer in a stricter sense than the plantation owner, who could afford a genial liberality. Thus the farmer responded by "looking up" to this great man, with respect and some affection."

Woman says Indian immigrants have taken over gas stations in her area and are charging customers different prices for drinks and food depending on who walks in.
“They change the price depending on how much money you’ve got. They change the price depending on how you dress.”

Spent a week in Portugal breaking every rule the NHS ever gave.
I ate eggs daily. I had steak. I ate local sardines, cheese and bacon. Nothing out of a packet with 47 ingredients. And I sat in the sun with no factor 50.
I slept like a baby and my nervous system had a full factory reset. No supplements, no app, just sun and real food.
Meanwhile the locals in their 80s were marching up hills I needed a sit-down after.
People talk about the Mediterranean diet like it's all vegetables and olive oil.
But the reality is grilled fish, pork, lamb, eggs, cheese, animal fat. And red wine. People walking everywhere, sitting in the sun, eating late and slowly with family, and having a nap when they felt like it. Nobody rushing, nobody grazing on "healthy snacks", nobody living on cortisol and a meal deal.
That's why they live longer. Not because someone drizzled oil on a lettuce leaf. It's the whole way they live, and you can't sell that in a bottle at the supermarket.

Well, duh. Z and Millennials are too young to realize they aren't yet, boomers already have retired.
Gen X is the cohort currently staring down the barrel of retirement and realizing what they did wasn't enough, particularly in this economy.

This is actually not niche at all. It's an accurate representation of two distinct Irish-language groups in Ireland, and everyone knows it.
On one side are the native speakers, the cultural continuation of rural Gaeltacht communities, where Irish has been passed down through generations as a living community language, along with Irish culture including Catholicism.
On the other side is a modern development, the "Gaeilgeoirí." These are people who typically attend the most exclusive schools, where Irish is taught well and functions as a marker of prestige and status. They then use this credential to masquerade as representatives of the other group, as representatives of ordinary Ireland, even though in reality they represent the most privileged and elite class.
Their cultural outlook is largely a foreign import from the US. It's a culture of privileged people who shed their guilt of privilege through virtue-signalling via Palestinian activism, veganism, LGBTQ+, Paganism (as long as it aligns with woke liberal values), multiculturalism, and the rest of the elite Hollywood/establishment bourgeoisie package.
They represent two factions of Ireland, the elites and the non-elites.
This is probably a good example of niche social and media environments having such radically different assumptions on society and politics that when they meet they're basically talking by one another
Like the inverse is also very common. Anti-abortion, religious, socially conservative Irish speakers tend to find the kinds of pagan, LGBTQ supporting leftish people ridiculous and making Irish culture "look bad" regardless if they're gaeilgeoirí
Not sure if anything can be done about this tbh. Unless everyone is willing to sit and discuss how their worldviews are constructed with no judgement for hours, it might be best to just not peek over the curtain into the other sides echo chamber lol
