Once in power they ran the economy with price controls, directed production, and a 4-Year Plan that subordinated private companies to the stateβs goals.
They just redefined socialism as racial solidarity instead of class war, then purged the actual leftists inside the party who took it too seriously.
Thatβs not a gotcha. Itβs literally what they did.
And the operating system is still running:
They capture language so words only mean what the movement needs them to mean. They sort people by group identity and treat the other side as the enemy, not someone to persuade. They run purity spirals where the most extreme enforcer wins. They elevate lived experience or the anointed voice over evidence.
They demand the whole person (speech, associations, conscience) for the collective. Individual rights exist only so long as they serve the cause.
Same pattern. Different branding. Thatβs the case.
