Climate change is here and mostly irreversible as well. That makes adaptation all the more critical now. I truly hope this idea gets strong backing.

She tried to end her life three times. Not because she had vitiligo. But because of how society treated her. When I heard her story, my heart broke. As a little girl, she was treated like an untouchable. And it continued as she grew. Her schoolteacher told her classmates not to go near her. Children distanced themselves from her. Imagine what that does to a little child’s heart. All because her skin looked different. But she refused to give up. She started a food venture. And then something heartbreaking happened. When she wasn’t around, people happily picked up her food and ate it. But when she was present, they refused to eat. Same food. Same hands that prepared it. Only her presence changed their minds. Imagine trying to build something with so much hope, only to be rejected because of how you look. Eventually, without enough support, she had to shut down her startup. But here’s what I want you to know about this remarkable woman. She hasn’t stopped giving. She hasn’t stopped smiling. She hasn’t stopped helping others. And something she told me moved me deeply. Today, she is taking care of an elderly woman who was abandoned by her own family because she had vitiligo. Just think about that. A woman who was denied love and acceptance for so much of her life is now giving that very love and acceptance to someone else. How beautiful is that? She is spreading joy, creating awareness and helping thousands of people, especially those living with vitiligo. And she has a dream. She wants to organise a vitiligo conference in Bihar next year. I told her, let’s make it happen. And today, I’m asking all of you to join me. Let’s support her. Let’s stand beside her. Let’s help her build again. Because nobody should have to fight for the simple dignity of being accepted. And please remember, vitiligo is not contagious. But prejudice can spread from one person to another. Look at her smile in this photograph. Look at the joy. I kept thinking about the little girl who was told nobody should come near her. And today, here she is, holding my hand, smiling, giving so much love to the world. I wish the world had been kinder to that little girl. We cannot change her childhood. But together, we can help change her future. Bihar, let’s make her dream happen. And to everyone who has ever been made to feel different, unwanted or less than others: You belong. You matter. And your dreams matter. Proud of you Nisha Bhagwat. ❤️

"130 million Indians removed from voting" - this is the propaganda being spread around the world now by a coordinated operation. Let's see where this "130 million" is coming from. SIR is a constitutionally required revision of electoral rolls as per a section in Art 324, 1950 of the Indian constitution. The govt has to do it. It was last done in 2003. It must have been done again last decade by 2013, but it was delayed for various reasons. The world's largest population, India, registers deaths of about 5-6 million people a year (Covid was higher. And as per these same foreign propaganda accounts, it was "millions more"). Since 2003, until 2026 when SIR was done, in 23 years, 138 million Indians have died at 6 million deaths a year. Or 115 million at 5 million deaths a year. Apart from this, so many Indians migrated to other cities, towns, and states. So they will also be removed from existing rolls as they already have new addresses to vote from. Now, during 2026 SIR, EC has only made a draft count of Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate entries - and this comes to 130+ million. It is not even final deletion - the list is challenged by parties, people via appeals, goes to court etc to get finalized. So this "130 million removed from voting in India" is fake news and fear mongering deliberately done to make the world believe "India has deleted 130 million eligible voters in some unconstitutional scam operation." The fake news and fear mongering is being spread in a coordinated way internationally. Along with planted nothing-burger reports creating doubts on EC and a protest movement on the same in the name of Gen-Z. The GoI is totally failing in at least fighting the fake news and misinformation. They seem to have zero independent network to counter these 'paid to post' international SM influencers that don't look like an IT cell defending the govt. As for any influence in international media - forget it, India seems to have ZERO, while pauper Pakistan seems to run whatever news it wants on major media orgs. Shame. And Indians themselves are not being educated well by GoI on what's SIR, the need for it etc. Forget fighting the misinfo campaign at international level. Such gaps in information, communication, and PR is so easy to be used by adversaries for planting their own fake news to turn even Indians against the GoI. Apathy and ineptitude in fighting infowar and PR cost. No matter how successful we are in internal and external security, and in fighting traditional means of war against the country. I have said this before and will say it again - everything from some deranged boys throwing stones on Vande Bharat, to a perverted group doing gang rape, to riots in some cities, to protests and huge movements for regime change, are all being triggered and run via Social Media. If our own people can be easily turned against us using misinfo and fake news within our own country, and we cannot do anything about it, then we are still weak.

The Great Circle of Crude Somewhere in the Urals, a barrel of oil is loaded onto a tanker. It has no idea it is about to become the most morally flexible object on earth. It sails to Jamnagar, where India buys it at a "friendship discount". India calls this strategic autonomy. The West calls it funding the war. The barrel calls it Tuesday. At the refinery, the crude is heated, cracked and distilled, and something miraculous happens. The Russian molecules leave, and Indian diesel emerges. Nothing about the chemistry has changed, but the paperwork has undergone a spiritual rebirth. It is the only known process that turns sanctions into margins. Europe now steps in. In the morning, it sanctions Russian oil. By lunch, it fills its tanks with Indian diesel. At dinner, it lectures India on values. Europe does not buy Russian oil. It buys Russian oil that has been to finishing school. America is furious that India buys Russian crude and slaps on tariffs to show it. It then quietly carries on importing Russian enriched uranium, because principles are like fuel: best refined before use. Now comes the masterstroke. Ukraine needs diesel to resist Russia, so it buys Indian diesel with money given to it by Europe. India then pays Russia for the next barrel. So European taxpayers fund Ukraine, which pays India, which pays Russia, which funds the missiles that make Ukraine ask Europe for more money. It is the first war in history with a subscription model. Russia, meanwhile, earns money from the fuel powering the trucks that resist its own army. It is the only belligerent to have outsourced both its revenue and its opposition's logistics to the same refinery. Final ledger: Russia: paid for the war, by the war Ukraine: fighting Russia on Russian fuel, bought with European money Europe: morally clean, operationally Indian fuelled America: outraged, selectively India: charging a refining margin on everyone's hypocrisy The barrel: has travelled more than most diplomats, and achieved more The money circles the globe like a vessel on DP (Dynamic Positioning) holding station: burning enormous energy, going nowhere, and everyone on the bridge insists it is under control.

Yesterday it was fans. Today it is classrooms. A 17 year old girl was gang raped in a park near Kalkaji Mandir. And the response from one of the best women's colleges in the country, 2 km away, is to move classes online. So the girls stay home. The park stays exactly as it was. The lane behind the back gate stays exactly as it was. The men stay exactly where they were. Problem solved? Notice the pattern. Student dies, remove the fan. Girl is assaulted, remove the girl. Every time, the one already suffering gets moved. Never the system. At this rate the safest campus in India will be the one with no students in it. Fix the lighting. Fix the patrolling. Fix the park. Fix the men. Then send the girls back to class. Where they belong.
STORY | Lady Shri Ram College shifts classes online after minor's rape in Astha Kunj Park Lady Shri Ram College for Women cancelled regular classes on Tuesday and shifted them to online mode for Wednesday following the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl at a park nearby, with the college administration stating that the safety of its students remained its top priority.

“Chow, what took you so long – I need a ride and do you have any bloody cigarettes?!” And that's how one of the most crucial engagements in independent Indian history ended. This is the story. On the morning of 1st September, 61 years ago, an entire Pakistani division, supported by two regiments of armour, 70 Patton and Sherman tanks, crashed into the 191 Infantry Brigade and just 11 light AMX-13 tanks of the 20 Lancers led by Major Bhaskar Roy in the Chamb Jaurian sector. Operation Grand Slam was designed to sweep Indian defences aside and take the strategic town of Akhnoor, putting all of Kashmir under threat. Major Bhaskar Roy and his 11 light tanks put up a desperate defence against the two armoured regiments, using the AMX 13's speed to attack and quickly change positions destroying over thirty tanks and RCLs over a couple of desperate days of fighting, but losing 8 of his 11 tanks before help finally arrived. By then Major Roy had four tanks shot under him, and while getting off the fourth, even lost his trousers that had caught fire. He borrowed another pair and was still around when another AMX13 troop led by Major Shankar Roychowdhury(later to become the Chief of Army Staff) finally came to their rescue. Shankar thought his friend was dead, when he heard a plaintive voice next to a destroyed tank demanding cigarettes and a ride back, Major Roy lost his life in a tragic accident in 1969, but thanks to his troop's gallant defence, Akhnoor was saved, and the 20 Lancers are still known as the 'Saviors of Akhnoor.'

A boy from Jhunni Kala village in Purnea, Bihar took a 12-hour bus ride to Sainik School Tilaiya in 1977. What followed was four thousand hours in a fighter cockpit, a Sukhoi squadron of his own, and finally the desk where India's air operations are planned. He was at that desk through the four days of Operation Sindoor, 7 to 10 May 2025. When he briefed the nation, it was not with bravado, but with facts, restraint, and a verse from the Ramcharitmanas recited from memory: "भय बिनु होइ न प्रीति" Without fear, there is no love. He answered in short sentences, refused to guess at numbers he could not confirm, and made a point of saying that every Indian pilot was home. No chest-thumping. No exaggerated claims. As he retires after 39 years, India salutes not just a distinguished Air Marshal, but the journey of a village boy from Bihar who rose to serve the nation at the highest level. This is the Bihar India should celebrate. Air Marshal A.K. Bharti Salute to you, Sir. Story - yourstory.com/2026/08/air-ma…

It's fascinating how Indigo's share price has barely suffered a dent when the firm is going through the equivalent of a full blown crisis for any other firm. The joys of being a dominant player with no other option in sight. It's also a massive regulatory failure.

I have moved my base to New Delhi recently, a city very close to my heart. But I have been feeling really underwhelmed. During my college years at St Stephen's, winters were beautiful and we used to look forward to foggy days. But it's not the same anymore. I wake up every morning feeling my throat is scratchy. I feel sick every time I step out - and you can't just stay at home in the air purifier all day.  Delhi air is a real problem and I feel we, as citizens, are not doing enough to turn things around. Can we do something? As a member of India's startup ecosystem, I feel we can do a lot more than just building our ventures. We have the sharpest minds solving some of the most complex problems - day in and day out. Can we take a few hours out and spend time in brainstorming solutions for some of the most pressing challenges that we face as a society? For now, if you are someone who lives in Delhi or has loved-ones who live here, air pollution has become an existential crisis. This is what I am proposing: 1: Let's get together in Delhi and brainstorm some ideas on what it is that citizens can do to respond to this crisis. Just ideas and brainstorms, no cameras, no audience. 2: We compile ideas and solutions in a document and we present it to the relevant authorities. We also tell them specifically what we can do to help them. 3: And if the authorities want, we volunteer some time and resources that may be needed to fix this challenge. If you want to join this brainstorm in Delhi, just fill this form and I will get back to you with details of the meetup. sign up luma.com/i9it5dp6
