D PRECIOUS-ONE ◻️

On the road to Emmaus in Gospel of Luke 24, the Lord did not meet unbelievers. He met restrained believers. Seven miles of discussion about Jesus. Seven miles of theology. Seven miles of analysis. And their eyes were restrained. Not blinded by Satan. Restrained by interpretation below Scripture grade. The pitch of their conversation was lower than revelation. They were talking about events, not verdicts. About tragedy, not triumph. About crucifixion, not completion. Seven miles and not one mile of comprehension. And the Lord called it what it was. Foolishness. Slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken. That is the diagnosis. Because the problem was not lack of data. It was selective belief. They trusted the offense more than the free gift. They trusted what they saw more than what was written. They processed redemption through disappointment instead of through prophecy. And today it is worse. Seven miles has become seven conferences. Seven books. Seven online debates. Seven prayer marathons. We discuss Jesus endlessly yet casualise His finished work. We preach Christ yet insert gaps into redemption. We say in Jesus name yet secretly believe our contending completes what His blood began. That is modern Emmaus. Victory is treated as relative. Redemption is presented as powerful but negotiable. The cross is preached as effective yet insufficient against certain narratives. And so believers walk with Christ and see Him as a co traveller on the journey of life rather than as the risen Lord who has already triumphed. Seven miles of discussion produced no combustion. No burning heart. No opened eyes. Because only Scripture reveals Christ absolutely. So what did He do Beginning at Moses and all the prophets He interpreted to them the things concerning Himself. He did not validate their emotional processing. He introduced scriptural fire. The healing to a slow heart is not more argument. It is ignition. When Scripture is opened properly the heart burns. When the heart burns the eyes open. When the eyes open Christ is no longer a companion on the road. He is the Victor of history. And then He took bread. He broke it. He gave it. Revelation moved from text to table. From exposition to participation. And their eyes were opened. The same road that carried seven miles of foolishness now carried seven miles of fire. They returned to Jerusalem. That is the pattern. Scripture ignites the heart. Burning hearts open blinded eyes. Opened eyes recognise the finished work. Recognised victory produces movement back to the centre of testimony. Seven miles away discussing. Seven miles back declaring. The crisis today is not absence of Jesus talk. It is absence of scriptural combustion. We have conversation without revelation. Contending without comprehension. Activity without absolute trust in what Christ accomplished. The Lord still confronts slow hearts. And the cure has not changed. Open the Scriptures. Let them burn. Take the bread. Break it. Receive it. Only Scripture reveals Christ absolutely. And only revealed Christ turns foolish miles into fiery return.
