No. 223 Remington was not a hunting cartridge. It was developed specifically for the AR15 for military service. The military used 223 Remington to kill enemy combatants in Vietnam before civilians could even purchase it. The original 55 grain fmj was designed specifically to keep parity with 30-06 M2 ball lethality out to at least 300 yards.
It wasn't designed to be a "varmint" round.
They retooled the hot pocket crisping sleeve manufacturing line to make UAVs and bullets for Ukraine and Israel and that's why I have to cook hot pockets in the oven for 3 hours instead of in the microwave for 2 minutes because the crisping sleeve was discontinued due to war

On this 10/22 I would like to remind all of my loyal followers that the Ruger 10/22 is a piece of shit and the only reason people commonly accept 22 self-loading rifles as being unreliable is because we were all duped into using the garbage bin 10/22 as a standard of comparison.
