South Africa will come to a 15-minute standstill this Friday, 21 November, as #WomenForChange leads a nationwide Silent Lie Down to honour the women who never made it home. At 12 PM, women, children, and members of the LGBTQI+ community will gather across the country—dressed in black—to lie down in silence and remember the 15 women murdered daily in South Africa.
From Sea Point Promenade, where the organisation will carry the Unburied Casket, to 15 national meeting points and countless personal gatherings, this moment calls for unity, grief, and collective power. The names of the women lost will be read and livestreamed across all Women For Change platforms.
