Co-sleeping isn't just a cultural norm for foragers; it's vital for infant safety, warmth, and feeding. Western advice often oversimplifies, potentially robbing infants of crucial maternal cues and increasing SIDS risk. Full episode: youtu.be/QsrR67hl_Dk @primalprimate

The function of sleep is still a mystery? Even with publications saying so in 2022. We all do it, we know it intimately, yet defining sleep sparks debate among experts. What *is* sleep, really? Full episode: youtu.be/QsrR67hl_Dk @primalprimate

Discovered in 2012, the glymphatic system uses astrocytes to funnel cerebrospinal fluid, clearing out toxins like tau tangles and beta-amyloid. Two nights without sleep can build up a shot glass full of poison. Amazing! Full episode: youtu.be/QsrR67hl_Dk @primalprimate

Humans sleep less than any other primate, yet live longer, healthier lives with better cognitive abilities. This paradox is explored through an evolutionary lens, questioning our understanding of sleep's role in health. Full episode: youtu.be/QsrR67hl_Dk @primalprimate

Don't starve yourself of infrared light. It allows cytochrome c to turn oxygen into water and generates ATP (energy). This is literally feeling your mitochondria: 'mitoception'. Full episode: youtu.be/QsrR67hl_Dk @primalprimate @niroshajmurugan @MitoPsychoBio

A measure that seemed politically ambitious (allowing 4-6 homes where single homes once stood) proves to be far too modest in the face of a housing crisis. What will it take to get the tens of thousands of modest homes we need now?
🙌 Multiplex update: we've now accepted 103 development permit applications for new #multiplexes, totaling approximately 446 new homes throughout Vancouver's low-density neighbourhoods. #VancouverHousing #HousingFirst #HousingForAll

Don't waste my time by starting too many projects. Instead, focus on developing a research program and finishing those papers before starting new projects. (Also don't waste time presenting posters or writing chapters). That would have made my work far easier + more impactful.
