I’m not calling for a ban on prayer or anointing. I’m saying there should be a line. If your ministry needs to pour oil and pass newborns around in circles to function, maybe re-examine the practice. What do you think β€” harmless spiritual tradition or something we should call out more openly?

Parents who allow this also share the responsibility. Faith is personal. Endangering a helpless baby to β€œprove” a point or receive an β€œanointing” is not faith. It’s negligence.

We’ve seen too many cases in Nigeria where unregulated β€œprophets” and β€œprophetesses” handle pregnancies, births, and infants with zero medical oversight β€” and sometimes it ends badly. This video may be mild compared to some, but the mindset is the same: spiritual theatrics over basic care.

My honest take: I don’t care what religion or ministry you belong to. A newborn is not a prop. Passing a baby around like that, oil or no oil, is reckless. Babies that young have weak immune systems and fragile necks. One slip and it’s not β€œdeliverance,” it’s damage.

From the clip: night-time gathering, woman in yellow holding the baby, overlay text about problems and β€œThank You Jesus.” Captions claim she pours oil and the infant is rotated among people. No mainstream news has picked it up yet β€” it’s pure social-media virality right now.

What exactly are they praying for by doing this nonsense.
A video is circulating this morning of a Nigerian β€œprophetess” from Divine Settlement Healing and Deliverance Ministry pouring oil on a newborn and people passing the baby around in a circle. I’m sharing this not for clout, but because some of us need to talk about what we’re normalising.

You don’t have to support Sowore’s politics or his style to notice the pattern: every time the cameras are present, the pushback gets more aggressive. That alone should make anyone paying attention a little uncomfortable.

Press freedom at a courthouse shouldn’t be controversial. People going in and out of a public court is newsworthy, especially in a high-profile political case. Blocking that, or treating it as an offence, only makes the whole thing look more controlled than it should.

This is happening around his ongoing β€œTinubu is a criminal” cyberbullying case. The same court that has already seen multiple clashes involving him. At this point the trial itself is almost secondary to the theatre that keeps unfolding outside and inside the premises.

I’ve seen enough of these court-day videos from him over the years to know he thrives on confrontation. But the pattern still matters. When the default reaction from officials is to restrict cameras rather than just do their job, it tells you something about how power is exercised in that building.

The wardens were apparently trying to stop journalists from filming people entering and leaving the premises. Sowore’s response was basically: β€œThis is a public institution, not your private property. Journalists have a right to report.” Whether you like him or not, that core point is hard to argue with.

What are they dragging with that man again
Just watched the videos of Sowore going at it with prison wardens outside the Federal High Court this morning. My honest take: this isn’t really about one activist and a few officers. It’s about how casually some people in uniform treat a public court like their personal compound.

Harry Kane at 33, finally a Ballon d'Or winner. No need to rewrite his career or pretend he was never criticised. His journey has had its ups and downs, but this is a remarkable achievement. My take? This award is a reminder that football careers aren't always about who reaches the top first, but who keeps delivering long enough to get there. Do you think Kane deserved the Ballon d'Or over MbappΓ© and Yamal?

Another moment worth celebrating: Bukayo Saka won the SΓ³crates Award for his work with BigShoe, helping fund surgeries for children in Nigeria. As a Nigerian football fan, this is the kind of football news I love seeing. Football can go beyond the pitch and change lives. Saka deserves his flowers for that.

Now, look at the top 10. MbappΓ© finished second, Lamine Yamal third, Rodri fourth and Messi fifth. That is some serious competition. But Kane's goal contributions, consistency and achievements across the season gave him the edge. You can debate individual awards all day, but 73 goals demand respect.

What makes this victory special is the history behind it. Kane becomes the first Englishman to win the Men's Ballon d'Or since Michael Owen in 2001. Twenty-five years later, another English striker has finally brought the award home. Sometimes, persistence really does pay off.

And let's not forget England. Kane scored 6 goals at the 2026 World Cup and helped England finish third, their best result since 1966. For a player who has carried England's attack for years, ending the tournament as his country's all-time leading World Cup scorer makes this season even more memorable.

His Bayern Munich numbers deserve special attention: β€’ 61 goals in 51 games β€’ 36 Bundesliga goals β€’ 14 Champions League goals β€’ 10 DFB-Pokal goals Winning the Bundesliga Golden Boot for three consecutive seasons is no joke. The man has turned consistency into an art.
