Two firsts (2027, 2028) and a 2027 fourth go to Tennessee. Simmons and a 2028 fifth come to Chicago.
Here's who the Bears are getting: 🧵

Marvin Harrison Jr.
(Texans Debut Thoughts)
12 snaps. 4 targets. 3 catches, 34 yards. Every catch moved the chains.
• Half his snaps were run blocks. On a slot stalk block and a goal-line rep, he drove his man out of the play. A+ Effort.
• (Q2 6:14, Q3 12:59) Smooth underneath. He beat his man on a shallow cross and settled into a soft spot in the zone on a dig.
• (Q3 10:52) Houston trusted him already: 3rd & 2 in the red zone, and he moved the sticks.
• On a deep post route, he got behind his man but wasn't targeted. Stroud took the check down and moved the chains. At the very least, it showed there was potential for a bigger day.
• (Q2 5:47) He didn't separate on a curl, and Jarrian Jones drove on it for the PBU.
It wasn't a lot to give a true evaluation, but he showed he's willing and ready to do his job one week in.
C.J. Stroud said, "It felt like old times… we'll get him more touches and more plays here in the season."
"Felt like old times" has a real chance to blossom into something. I'm truly rooting for the guy to succeed.

Jahmyr Gibbs is a volume back for sure, but against Carolina, I’m not super confident.
Weeks 2/3 the Panthers held Bijan Robinson to 16 carries, 72 yards and 0 TDs and Quinshon Judkins 18 carries, 70 yards and 0 TDs.
Absolutely no one would fault you for thinking he’d still have a big game… it’s Gibbs of course… just gonna be a heck of a matchup. #NFL

Geno Smith had a near-perfect game in the loss against the Lions…
Smith went 31-for-37, 321 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT… AND LOST!
Since 2000, QBs with 80%+ completions, 300+ yds, 3+ TD, 0 INT (30+ att) in a loss:
- Big Ben 2016
- Cutler 2017
- Brees 2018
- Matt Ryan 2019
- Geno, today

I got curious… what would it take to catch Emmitt Smith's 164 rushing TDs…
In order to get 80 more TD’s at his current career pace (0.66 per game, 85 TDs in 129 games) it would take him around 121 games into around week 5 of 2033, age 37…
Emmitt Smith’s record is absolutely insane.
{This assumes 17-game seasons and no missed games. For comparison, he's only missed one start since 2019.}

In the last 20 seasons, only 2 teams started 3-0 after winning 3 or fewer the year before:
- 2006 Saints
- 2013 Chiefs
Both made the playoffs. Both had a new head coach AND a new QB…

SNF streak alert…
- Broncos: 9 straight wins vs. NFC teams
- Rams: 5 straight wins vs. Denver
{Per AP}
Last time Denver beat the Rams? 2002.
Disclaimer: the last meeting was a 51-14 Rams win on Christmas 2022… with Baker Mayfield at QB.

Well… I was curious so I looked it up…
I was only able to find ONE QB since 1950 to throw 3+ TD’s in the first 3 weeks of the season…
@kurt13warner with the 1999 Rams. He threw 3 TDs in each of his first three starts (vs BAL, vs ATL, at CIN), then 5 vs SF, so it was technically four straight games for Kurt.
With age as a parameter, nobody 35+ has accomplished this milestone… Kirk COULD BE the first. 😱

The question is, has any QB ever started his first three games with a team, and thrown 3 TD's in each of them?

If you're waiting on the Fernando Mendoza era, get comfortable. A No. 1 pick learning behind a 38-year-old who's winning is a luxury most rebuilds never get.
- Kirk Cousins' agent, Mike McCartney, spoke with Jason La Canfora: "He loves playing for Klint… I think he really does enjoy (working with) Mendoza, too."
- La Canfora's thoughts: keep winning and you won't see Mendoza in the first half of the season. ESPN's Dan Graziano says the same: "no rush."
How’s it feel #RaiderNation to see moves being made that actually blossom into reality?! 😱

Dallas Goedert sprained his MCL and is out a few weeks.
So of course the Eagles bring back Zach Ertz… 35 years old, nine months removed from tearing his ACL, LCL, AND hamstring.
Ertz is 10 catches behind Harold Carmichael for the Eagles’ all-time receptions record.
That’s not just a depth signing. That’s a loyalty signing.

Fun fact:
Per ESPN's Rob Demovsky, the Dolphins have not won a game with a kickoff temperature under 40 degrees since 2016.
Under McDaniel’s tutelage, the Dolphins have been eliminated in the AFC Wild Card Round of the playoffs in each of the past two seasons. Both cold weather games (Bills and Chiefs.)
Dolphins have had some struggles with injuries which have led to their seemingly up and down successes and failures…
McDaniel has done more than enough to justify keeping his job a little longer in my opinion.

Sources: In recent weeks, multiple teams have been discussing whether they can trade for Steelers’ standout T.J. Watt, who skipped the team’s most recent minicamp. Pittsburgh hasn’t shown any willingness to deal Watt so far, but he’s unhappy with his contractual situation and sources believe outside team interest is likely to increase given today’s trade.
