The second baseman treated this throw like it was routine. If he simply becomes a first baseman nobody is talking about this and 8 runs wouldn’t have scored.

It had more to do with the second baseman receiving this throw like there was no play at 2B. If he simply becomes a first baseman and stretches, inning over. Game of inches yes - go get the ball
8 runs scored because of Christian Yelich's baserunning to 2nd base. If his route to 2nd is 2.4 inches longer, this 10-0 game is still 2-0 and going into the next inning. Game of inches. Don't give away inches.

My goodness this is spot on and perfect for the process!
NLCS MVP Jake Bauers shares how letting go of results helped him find a different level of freedom as a competitor. "I think what changed for me this year was I stopped caring about results. I started caring about competing. I started caring about being in the moment and getting out of my own way." Sometimes, the biggest obstacle to performing at your best isn't a lack of preparation or ability. It's the pressure you place on yourself to produce a particular outcome. You become so concerned with what you want to happen that you lose touch with what the moment actually requires. Any performer can unlock a new level when they learn how to be fully invested in the competition without becoming imprisoned by the outcome. 🎥: Fox Sports

Upstart leagues that lose millions of dollars every year for 30 years don't get to dictate when they play inside any arena. It's a charity league with one major attraction. The major attraction is out of the playoffs. Stop the fake outrage. Anybody who has watched the first 4 games of the series knows exactly why the 12:30 tip makes sense.

Beigel released on that play to the EZ, which is why his guy was unblocked and made the play...because it was Beigel in Rhino releasing to catch a pass

Argyle’s Walker Bruce with a huge interception. Play of the game. Argyle leads Colleyville Heritage 45-35 with 4:07 to go. #TXHSFB

This is a fantastic piece, short read, but will resonate with anyone captured by the sounds, smells, and sights of baseball. And yes, “Dad, want to have a catch?” will forever initiate dust in the room.
As the parent of 3 boys (one a senior) who are all involved in baseball, this got me. Related: a rule in our home is to never be too busy to play catch with your kids. If they ask, the answer is always yes.

The challenge for the coaching fraternity is to be, as Elko put it, opposite of the moment. Every coach has been caught in the moment, and the high level coaches master stoicism. #BWYFA
There is a hidden cost when coaches fail to manage their own stress. Your players can see and experience it. A 2017 study found that elite athletes will detect a coach’s stress through changes in communication, behavior, and emotional expression. Most importantly, players perceive stressed coaches as LESS effective leaders. The lesson here isn’t that coaches shouldn’t feel stress. It’s recognizing that how you regulate yourself is a fundamental leadership skill and critical to your overall effectiveness and impact.

If there is a better phrase matching "Be where your feet are" it might be what Devin Cooley said in response to giving up a goal: "The past is dead and there is nothing for you there". Move on and be present!
We've got another electric post-game interview from Devin Cooley 🔥

You know what shook me when I was Muslim? The story of Hosea: In it, God tells a prophet to marry a woman He KNOWS will betray him. She does. She runs to other men. She ends up enslaved, sold, and used up. Essentially, she is worthless to the world. Then, God tells Hosea to go BUY HER BACK, to pay money for his own wife who cheated on him, and love her again. (Hosea 3) I thought it was the most humiliating command in the Bible. Bro, why would any man do that!? Then I realized I was exactly like the wife. I gave my heart to everything but God. I chased other masters and I sold myself cheap. In a way, I made myself worthless. But, God looked at me, the betrayer, and didn’t say “you’re not worth it.” Instead, He said, “Name the price. I’m buying her back.” What's beautiful about this is, that’s the entire Gospel. God doesn’t wait for the unfaithful to come crawling back clean. He pays to redeem them while they’re still dirty. Islam told me to make myself WORTHY of God. Hosea showed me an amazing, present God who pays to redeem the unworthy. The cross was Him naming the price. Praise the Lord! Follow for more Christian apologetics that doesn't stop at winning arguments but equips you to actually reach people!

So, you want to grow, develop, mature, and be calm in the midst of adversity? Embrace adversity and welcome it as a honored guest in your life. The dividends of knowing adversity on a first name basis will take you places you couldn’t have reached without it.

Walls with plus vault steal timing on this SB. Bailey makes it close on a tough low out pitch. Low slot on target athletic throw.

Let your players and your own children fail early and often in competition. Make sure the first time they’re facing adversity isn’t when they’re 22 because you rescued them from opportunities to grow from failure. instagram.com/reel/DeinHpWgz…

No regrets having my two sons play competitive travel sports over the years. Whether they make D1 or not…every dollar and every hour invested has been worth it. The life skills that transfer from playing competitive sports are immense. Discipline, accountability, sacrifice, resilience, teamwork and learning how to handle adversity. Important life stuff. These kids learn to show up when they’re tire…work their asses off when nobody is watching, take criticism, compete for their spot and understand that nothing is handed to them. Those lessons will serve them long after their playing days are over… I’d much rather spend my weekends watching my sons compete and develop those qualities than sitting around a country club raising entitled kids who have never been pushed outside their comfort zone. Not everything we do for our children needs to have a financial return or lead to a college scholarship. Sometimes the return is simply raising strong, disciplined young men ✊

A sign of a good Bat Path is the ability to make flush contact across a range of POCs As POC moves further out front: • Attack Angle increases • Both HAA & HBA work from oppo to pull-side This means solid contact goes from low oppo➡️LD to CF➡️in the air pull-side
