Truly a great honour. I give all the glory to God. I owe so much to the students & faculty of the Dept of Paediatrics & Child Health, University of Nairobi; ETAT+ instructors across Kenya; and all the healthworkers who attended in our Breastfeeding Boot Camps. It is teamwork.

Honoured to give the Keynote at Kenya’s WBW Media Sensitization Meeting, invited by MoH. I called for urgent action on poor maternal, newborn & child health trends, low breastfeeding rates, and stressed investing in PHC & community efforts—not just ICUs—to meet mortality targets.

Over next 4 months, we’re running a diabetes prevention campaign in Nyeri County— where prevalence is 2–4× higher than Kenya’s average. Diabetes is largely preventable. In spirit of giving back, I’m inviting collaborators to join us in promoting healthy lifestyles. Let’s act now!

Kenya: A new directive bans patients from sharing hospital beds —finally! It’s unethical&unsafe to make strangers, possibly unclean, share a bed. Instead of investing in more beds, let’s invest in primary healthcare —prevent illness, reduce admissions &ease pressure on hospitals.
