Tony Benn’s 5 critical questions: “What power have you got? Where did you get it from? In whose interests do you exercise it? To whom are you accountable? How do we get rid of you? And if you can’t get rid of the people who govern you, you don’t live in a democratic system.”

Great thread for this time of year!

This is a lie. And it’s an abhorrent lie because the goal of this lie is to prevent polio vaccination and kill even more people.
RFK Jr.,Trump's nominee to lead the HHS, suggested that the Polio vaccine "killed many, many more people" than polio ever did.

I debated whether to share this. I did apologize on the air. But I invite you to read my introspection on @BulletinAtomic of how extreme weather 📈 driven by global warming has changed me. Frankly, YOU should be shaken too, and demand #ClimateActionNow. thebulletin.org/2024/09/hurr…

Tears live on air from this hurricane specialist and meteorologist @JohnMoralesTV Everything that scientists predicted is coming true, and those who wilfully denied or hid it, and still do, have committed nothing less than crimes against humanity. xitter.cf/ChrisHushNBC/status/18…

I'm shocked at the severity of sentences handed down for PLANNING but not carrying out, a peaceful process.
This is a thread looking at sentences handed down by Judge Christopher Hehir. 🧵

Labour pain is notorious for being one of the worst pains in the world. Does anyone seriously think we'd be offering sterile water as analgesia if men gave birth? Women deserve better than this.

Out of hours plumber £80-£200/hr Out of hours mechanic £80-£200/hr Out of hours electrician £80-£200/hr But Sunak thinks these junior doctors with £100k of debt deserve only £22/hr for extra locum shifts after working a 48 hour week paid at £13/hr. No wonder they're striking.

Almost 8 million people on NHS waiting lists, 3.3 million children living in poverty, 1 million destitute and 2.9 million families having to access food banks in the last 12 months. Welcome to modern Britian. Time for change is coming. Be strong enough to use it.
"The Joseph Rowntree Foundation says 1 million UK children (& in total 4 million people) are deemed destitute due to one or a combination of having no home, heating, adequate food or toiletries to ensure proper hygiene". Gordon Brown is right: it's a silence that shames us all.

When Junior Doctors are on £16 an hour and MP's are on £46 an hour. And raising the Junior Doctors pay by £4 an hour is unaffordable, even though they just raised MP's pay by £5 an hour. It's hard not to see the lie. RT if Junior Doctors NEED paying.
