I can't get over how good the 76ers look defensively.
Maxey and VJ are everywhere. LeBron is bought in to a "versatile defensive chess piece" role in year 24. Nick Nurse isn't afraid to cross-match, or get creative with his coverages.
Most importantly, Embiid at his new weight is moving in ways he hasn't since the torn meniscus in 2024.
This is sustainable and replicable. If they can clean up the transition errors, they're a genuinely great defense.

First quarter of Warriors-Lakers since the opening night matchup...
Luka Doncic: Yaxel Lendeborg
21 points 0 points
3 rebounds 1 rebound
5 assists 2 fouls
2 steals -21 in 8 minutes
2 blocks
7-of-12 FG
5-of-9 3PT
2-of-3 FT
+23 in 12 minutes
Gary Payton wants Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg to go at Lakers' Luka Doncic and make him guard, per @TomerAzarly.
"This is what you're supposed to do! You don't concede to anybody. I don't care what it is or who he is. Luka is who he's going to be, but he's still a basketball player and he's still human. I would attack him on the other end of the floor. Make him guard somebody and make him do something. He's a great offensive player, but let's see if you can play defense, too. I'm gonna be an offensive player against you and let people help you and then see if you can guard me 1-on-1."
