23 August 1939 | The Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact was signed by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. It paved the way for the joint invasion and occupation of Poland in September 1939.
The pact contained a secret protocol that provided for the partition of Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe into German & Soviet spheres of interest.

On 1 Aug 1944, the Warsaw Rising began. Driven by an indomitable will to be free, the Poles rose and fought valiantly against the German occupiers. Civilians perished in mass executions and under a continuous hail of bombs and shells. It is estimated that between 150,000 and 200,000 people lost their lives. Across the Vistula the Soviet army halted its advance; when its forces finally entered the city in 1945, Warsaw lay utterly razed—reduced to a wilderness of ruins.

"Scripture tells us, 'Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test, he will receive the Crown of Life.' For 71 years, Lindsey Graham was strong and steadfast. As a brother, a Senator, a warrior, and a patriot, he withstood every last test... and every trial. And now, he wears the Crown of Life in Heaven—reunited with his parents and reunited with his Lord." - President Donald J. Trump

On this day in 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution declaring the creation and design of the U.S. flag. It proclaimed “that the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation."
May the flag forever wave over our nation, proudly protected by Veterans who have bravely fought for our freedom.
