In my old home of MI nytimes.com/2026/10/23/us/ro… we see #polarizationrules intensify as they are amplified by nastiness/racism/Islamophobia w Trump-style name calling capturing even formerly moderate GOP politicians. They too get swept up into this hysteria. Midwestern sense suffers.

Alaskans don’t need any help voting for their preferred candidates, and the State of Alaska has already handled this by clearly distinguishing the candidates on this year’s ballot. The Department of Justice should never have filed this lawsuit.

Hard to watch that interview with @IlhanMN by @chrislhayes where a sitting member of Congress describes her life in hiding because our own govt is using gestapo tactics to terrorize her family. Every Republican knows that nothing will come of this “investigation” other than this debasement of the whole system by Trump. They all know it.

I noted in Nov ‘19 that we were already careening toward not only greater political polarization but potentially violent confrontations. That was before #Covid19. Confrontations over face masks is a spark Trump wishes to light in order to distract from his own governance failure.
