Trending Video: Traders and APC members clashed at Abuja’s Banex Plaza after traders repeatedly rejected and pulled down PBAT campaign banners this afternoon. Hours later, police officers arrived and allegedly threatened anyone who attempted to resist or remove the banner, before it was eventually hung. Some accounts also alleged that officers remained at the plaza to ensure the banners were not taken down after the market closed. β€œWe no welcome them, dem dey force us by fire, dey force us, mount police say anybody way go commot am, na problem.” β€” Trader. Enugu State is trending because the venue booked for Peter Obi and Kwankwaso town hall meeting suddenly cancelled, 24hrs to the event. Owner of Amadeo Event Centre, Pastor Ugo Chime, allegedly told NDC that he was pressured to do it. NDC officials said they paid ₦3.5M for the venue a month ago, and another ₦500k as demanded. But when organizers arrived today Wednesday, to set up for Thursday, the manager told them they could no longer use the facility, blocked their access and saying that governor Peter Mbah said the venue is only for students not political events. Despite threats of legal action over what constituted a breach of contract, the manager allegedly claimed the Enugu Government controls the courts and judges, and their case would be dismissed or frustrated. NDC Enugu guber candidate, Chinyeaka Ohaa and other organizers pulled connections to persuade the management, but it was unsuccessful. Until the organizers posted the situation on social media and Obidients started showing up in numbers, before management finally allowed them add decorations to the venue ahead of tomorrow’s event. NDC members have accused Governor Peter Mbah of deliberately frustrating Obi’s campaign in Enugu, a claim he has denied, describing it as a β€œcheap, desperate and shameful attempt for attention.” His aide, Dan Nwomeh, also labelled it blackmail. NDC however vowed that event will hold tomorrow; meaning, Obi is going to Coal City, Amadeo Event Centre, along Ebeano Tunnel Road. Up to 10 apartments or neighbors can now share a nepa prepaid meter, recharge independently, track usage and power goes off when anyone’s unit finishes only with Vendr Utilities smart box. In May 2023, President Tinubu assumed office. Had his administration initiated the construction of six large-scale gas power plants immediately, one for each geopolitical zone Those facilities would likely be operational today. Given that Egypt successfully implemented 14.4 gigawatts of capacity within 27.5 months using similar technology and timelines, the feasibility is evident. Three years later, Nigeria continues to struggle to reach a power output of 5,000 megawatts. The issue is not whether such a project was achievable, but rather why it was never commenced.
