Had an incredible time at the American College of Surgeons 2026 in Washington, DC! 🩵🤍 @AmCollSurgeons An amazing 4 days of learning, reconnecting with old friends, meeting program directors and physician leaders and spending time with so many incredible IMGs from across the country and around the world. More than 200 Project IMG members came together at ACS from medical students and Match applicants to residents, fellows, and attending physicians. 🌎🩺 Seeing our community represented across so many institutions, specialties, and stages of the medical journey was truly special. We also donated blood together 🩸❤️ and, through @ProjectImg Humanitarian Services we are excited to be working on new opportunities to promote blood donation, raise awareness, and engage the IMG community in humanitarian initiatives across the country. More to come soon! 🌎🤍🩵 Project IMG is no longer just a community. It has become a global movement representing more than 150,000 members worldwide 🙌 A movement built by IMGs, for IMGs—connecting, mentoring, advocating, creating opportunities, and opening doors for the next generation. So proud of how far we have come, and even more excited about where we are going next. In loving memory of @AlbertoCalleMd . 🤍🩵 Dr Alberto was an Ecuadorian IMG and anesthesiology resident in the United States 🇺🇸. He worked incredibly hard to follow this path. Even while facing stomach cancer, he studied for the USMLE, earned his certification, matched into anesthesiology, and became a senior resident. When his illness required him to take time away from residency, he faced uncertainty about his visa. He reached out to me on WhatsApp and @ProjectImg advocated for Alberto and supported his efforts with @ECFMG_J1 to continue his training. We were grateful to know him and stand beside him. 🙏 Our hearts are with his family, friends, and everyone who loved him. We will remember his smile, his love of music, and the dedication with which he pursued his dream. We will miss you, Alberto. Rest in peace. 🤍🩵 🇪🇨
