And seahorses do occur in seagrass. Here is a Knysna seahorse from South Africa that was inadvertently sampled during some seagrass monitoring... happily went back into the water. Thank you @KatieMWatson_ for the video.

Frederick, Bianca and Katie were in Knysna to collect seagrass and sediment samples for their transcriptome and microplastic studies for @ProjectSeaStore . Great to see some healthy looking seagrass beds and happy students!

And well done to Emma and Aidan for successfully presenting their Honours proposals! Now for the sampling, which will include lot of mud and some choppy ocean...
Welcome to Aidan Bossert & Emma Rossouw, who are joining us for their Honours year. Aidan is looking at #bluecarbon in South African #seagrass. Emma is working on understanding #eDNA turn-over in #kelp #forests. Wishing you all the very best for the year ahead! @scienceSUN

Happy #WorldSeagrassDay 😊 here's some Zostera marina growing up in tanks at UCDavis. For me, I'm interested in the microbiome & how it interacts w/ the plant to cycle C and other nutrients in sediment
