Everything written in this post is true. And how do I know that? I know it because “Palestine” today is turning into the same thing that “Vietnam” was in the 1960s. A local conflict about the direction post-colonial Vietnam should take after the French defeat in 1954 transformed, over the course of the 1960s, into a prism through which a new generation of young adults viewed the entire world. “Vietnam” in the 1960s was almost not at all about whether communism would offer the Vietnamese a better future than liberal democracy. Instead, “Vietnam” ended up being about everything that was wrong with Western societies in the first 15–20 years after the end of the Second World War. “Vietnam” became an all-encompassing reckoning with the generation that had served in the war as junior officers - and believed they were supposed to take over the world after the old supreme commander (literally) Eisenhower had stepped down. “Palestine” is today’s “Vietnam.” When the silent majority finally understood what “Vietnam” was about, they chose Richard Nixon. The same will happen throughout the West: when the silent majority finally understands that “Palestine” is not about a geographical location in the Middle East, it will shift the center of gravity in Western politics sharply to the right. Where the silent majority made a mistake in the late 1960s was that they handed culture over to the “Vietnam” generation. They were allowed to dominate the universities and culture (because - one must admit - they had the best music and the best films). It is the logical consequence of the “Vietnam” generation being allowed to set the agenda at the universities and in cultural life that the “Palestine” generation fills so much space today. That is why the cultural battle matters. The “Palestine” generation’s agenda is to destroy everything that is recognizably civilized in the Western world. We cannot allow that to happen.

C’est un acte criminel d’une extrême gravité, on aurait pu avoir une hécatombe ! À Bordeaux, au commissariat des Capucins, des criminels ont bloqué l’entrée et mis le feu pour empêcher les policiers de sortir. Ces mères et pères de famille, ces jeunes policiers se sont vus mourir, tandis que les fumées envahissaient le bâtiment. Et devant cet acte criminel, la foule exultait ! In extremis, des renforts sont arrivés pour disperser les assaillants et sauver leurs sœurs et frères d’armes 🇫🇷. On a frôlé un drame absolu. Les auteurs doivent être retrouvés et poursuivis pour tentative de meurtre. Dix ans après l’attaque de Viry-Châtillon, où des policiers ont été brûlés vifs, coincés dans leur voiture de police, rien n’a changé !
