trading has a very specific kind of misery that no one talks about.
you sit down convinced today will feel different, then the same chart loads on the same monitor and you realise you've clocked in for the exact same day again.
same session. same model. same asset. same time. same risk. same strategy. same setup. same chair. same monitor. same caffeine. same levels. same TradingView tab. same fucking routine.
you mark the same levels, wait for the same setup and watch price take the longest possible route to doing absolutely anything.
somehow five minutes feels like an entire shift. then you blink and the move is over.
at some point you start feeling like a robot with a caffeine problem.
wake up. open charts. mark levels. wait. click. manage. screenshot. journal. close charts. repeat.
the computer gets to restart. you just sleep for a few hours and load back into the same session.
the result changes, but the routine barely does.
green day, same desk.
red day, same desk.
breakeven day, same desk, except now you've spent four hours doing all that for the financial equivalent of standing still.
and you can hear yourself explaining it to someone.
yes, i trade the same thing. yes, around the same time. yes, with the same rules. yes, i will be back tomorrow to do it again.
saying it out loud makes you sound like an NPC describing its daily quest.
then someone asks why you look so tired.
you've been sitting down all morning.
how do you explain that you've spent half the session arguing with yourself over whether a tiny rectangle on your screen has finished moving?
I wanted financial freedom and somehow gave myself a jail where I stare at candles, narrate my own mistakes and report back to a spreadsheet.
anyway.
same setup tomorrow. same risk. same time. same asset. same monitor.
see you at the open.

I usually don't get involved in prop firm drama, but this response from @Topstep is genuinely disingenuous for a firm that constantly markets itself as “trader-first.”
They justified moving a trader to Live day before payout partly because he was buying accounts at a pace that “annualizes to roughly 700 per year.”
700 ÷ 52 = roughly 13.5 accounts a week.
If you're trading 5-account stacks, that's less than 3 stacks a week.
Is that aggressive? Sure. But the guy also managed to take 4 payouts in his first 3 weeks.
And the funny part is you're assuming he's going to maintain that exact pace for an entire year.
What if he blows a few stacks, passes another, and keeps those accounts for 3 months?
Your whole projection falls apart.
I'm not saying Topstep can't move traders to Live. It's literally part of their model.
But using a hypothetical annual figure based on just a few weeks of activity to justify the decision is a pretty weak argument.
And if he really was moved to Live just one day before his next payout, that timing deserves an explanation too.
If you're going to market yourself as trader-first, at least explain the actual risk concerns instead of throwing around annual projections that might never materialize.
@Topstep, do better.
Replying to @yusuftrades @MichaelPatak
Yes, we called you up to Live, and as you continue to build there, an amount equal to your XFA balances will be released into your Live Account.
You earned four payouts in your first three weeks while purchasing accounts at a pace that annualizes to roughly 700 per year.
Topstep exists to help traders learn to trade and pay themselves along the way. It isn’t a SIM lottery. Everyone is welcome, but repeatedly cycling through accounts will eventually mean proving your strategy in Live.

Trading is so hard because it goes against almost every human survival instinct.
you want to avoid danger → you close a trade in drawdown even though the setup is still valid.
you want an immediate reward → you take +1R instead of waiting for your planned +3R.
you want to avoid a pain/loss → you refuse to take your stop.
you want to follow the crowd → you buy because everyone else is bullish.
you want to fight back → you revenge trade after a loss.
you want certainty → you hesitate on a perfectly valid setup.
and the worst part?
you break your rules, make money, and your brain reinforces the exact behaviour you're trying to eliminate/
your brain is wired for survival, not trading.
you basically have to reprogram the way you think.
trading is not for the weak-minded.

Another thing that genuinely pisses me off is @Topstep whole “trader-first” marketing.
Don't get me wrong, i’d still put them in my top 5 futures firms. Potentially even top 3.
But bro, spare me the bullshit that every business decision is some favour to traders.
You make money from people failing evaluations. That's literally part of your business model. And that's fine. You're running a business.
But @MichaelPatak , if everything is so trader-first, why do you still have monthly rebills???
A trader on a 50k eval needs to make 6% to pass. If they don't pass within a month, they're paying again.
So you're basically putting pressure on traders to rush, overtrade, or take bad setups just to beat the deadline.
How exactly is that in the trader's best interest???
Meanwhile, @ajtradinglucid removed monthly rebills at @TradingLucid .
And the funny thing is, lucid doesn't constantly pretend every decision is made purely out of love for traders.
They're pretty open about trying to build a sustainable business so they can keep payouts flowing.
And i respect that a hell of a lot more.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with running a profitable business.
i’d rather hear “we need to run a sustainable business to keep paying traders” than have every rule sold to me as something done for my benefit.
you're running a business bro. just say that.
i respect it way more than this “all for the traders” bullshit.

One tip for trading with futures prop firms. try not to let your balances sit more than $10–15k above your buffer. Stay lowkey and take payouts when you can.
Wouldn't surprise me if they have some system flagging accounts with $15k+ in potential payouts.
In this example, that's almost $28k in payouts they could potentially avoid paying out right away just by moving him to Live lol.
Just my theory tho 👀
Bro why you did put me to live, 1 day before payout time :((
28.000$ profit just gone for nothing….

Hot take?: Trading psychology is overrated when you’re still figuring out how to trade.
“iT’s 90% pSyChOlOgY”
That assumes you already have a strategy worth following.
You can follow every rule perfectly and STILL lose money if those rules have no edge.
Before blaming your mindset, ask yourself:
Do I know EXACTLY what my setup is?
Do I know where I’m wrong?
Have I actually tested what happens when I follow my rules?
Because without that, WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO TRUST?
Every loss starts feeling like you fucked up, even when you followed the plan.
So you change your strategy after every losing trade, never giving anything enough time to work.
Knowing your setup, understanding its losses, and having evidence that it works gives you a reason to stick with it.
OF COURSE psychology matters.
You still need to manage risk, handle losses, and control the urge to force trades.
But telling someone to “be more disciplined” without checking WHAT they’re being disciplined about is fucking useless.
A CONSISTENT LOSER IS STILL A LOSER

One rule took me from blown accounts to payouts.
the moment I went strictly 2R, the payouts started.
but sometimes the draw is way further than 2R.
so this is how i catch more without giving the 2R back:
1. price hits 2R
2. i let it run a bit further
3. then i trail my stop hard to 2R
now there are only two outcomes:
→ it hits the last TP
→ or i'm out at 2R
the 2R is protected either way.
+2R on $RTY
Why did I take it? Idk anymore tbh. Something with SMT, CISD, FVG & YM, some shit like that. Most importantly, it’s a W
We go again.

How one normal loss can blow your account:
Take an A+ setup
↓
Get stopped out
↓
Can't let it go because you needed that one to win
↓
Revenge trade to make it back
↓
Turn one red trade into a huge red day
↓
Wake up still tilted
↓
Force trades the next day to get back to even
↓
Blow the account
The stop cost you 1R. Your reaction cost you the account.

Idk why more people aren’t looking into this.
Google Ads + Google Analytics + an AI agent can become a full campaign automation loop.
Google already has official MCPs for pulling the data. Add Google Ads API write access + a scheduled agent, and you get:
→ Pull spend, clicks & conversions
→ See what that traffic does on-site
→ Find underperformers + new tests
→ Adjust budgets, bids & campaign status within your rules
→ Log every change
→ Measure the impact
→ Repeat
The MCPs handle the data.
The Ads API handles the changes.
Reporting, analysis, and execution can all run in one automated loop.
We've been running our ENTIRE Meta ads process through Opus 5.5 + Higgsfield…
And we JUST put the entire system inside of a notion file.
Inside there is:
→ How to connect Claude to your ad accounts with Meta's new official connector (no developer app, no tokens)
→ The 4 research prompts that turn your sales calls into 21 scored ad angles
→ The funnel prompt that only fires the pixel on qualified bookings
→ Statics with ChatGPT Images 2.5 and motion with Seedance 2.5
→ The exact campaign build prompt, set up paused for your approval
→ Daily, weekly, AND monthly prompts that manage the account in minutes a day

The pressure you bring into every trade
One way to get better at trading is to stop making it the center of your life.
Sounds backwards. But when every trade has to move you closer to a different life, it’s hard to just take a loss and move on.
You need the money. You want to prove someone wrong. You want to feel like all the time you’ve put into this is finally paying off.
Now every loss feels personal. Every red day feels like you’re falling further behind.
That’s when you start forcing trades, revenge trading, oversizing, moving stops. All the dumb stuff you already know not to do.
The rules haven’t changed. You’ve just given yourself a reason to ignore them.
When you trade for the love of the game, a loss is still annoying. Obviously. But it’s easier to accept when it doesn’t feel like a verdict on your future.
You can review the trade, learn what there is to learn, and get on with your day.
There’s a study from 1973 that looked at children who already enjoyed drawing. Some were promised a reward for drawing, some received an unexpected reward, and others received none. Later, the children who had been promised a reward showed less interest in drawing than the other groups.
The interesting part is that expecting a reward changed their relationship with something they already liked doing.
That study wasn’t about traders, but the idea is relevant: something you enjoy can start feeling like work when it becomes mainly a way to get something else.
Money matters, obviously. You can love trading and still want to get paid.
But if money, status, or proving people wrong becomes the whole reason you show up, it’s easy to lose interest in the actual craft. Reviewing trades. Waiting for your setup. Understanding what you did wrong.
You just want the result already.
And patience gets a lot harder when every session has to deliver it.
Have things outside trading that you care about. Give yourself something to look forward to after the screens are off. Let a red day be a red day without letting it take over everything else.
You can take the craft seriously without making every outcome so personal.
The game gets more fun the less it matters.
And with less riding on every trade, you give yourself more room to follow the rules you already know.
Ten headline options, with the first as my pick:
The game gets more fun the less it matters
Stop making trading the center of your life
When every loss starts feeling personal
Trade for the love of the game
Give trading less control over your life
Every trade doesn’t have to change your life
The pressure you bring into every trade
When trading becomes something you have to prove
Keep your ambition without forcing trades
Let a red day be a red day

Bro is 17 making $54K/month because he knows how to get people to download his apps. while people with way more technical skills are still tweaking an app nobody knows exists.
Knowing how to build is useful. Knowing how to get people to buy what you built is what pays.
Distribution gets it in front of people. Marketing gives them a reason to care and buy. Learn both, and you can take those skills into almost any niche.

New account, a little context.
NFTs & DeFi got me started. Futures came next. Made some money, made some mistakes, met good people, and built a few things.
Always liked strategy & solving problems . Execution was where a lot of my ideas stopped. AI changed that.
Then @eptwts’s posts got me looking harder at distribution. Plenty of things being built. Plenty going unseen.
That stuck with me and inspired this account. AI, marketing, distribution. A record of what I try, what works, and what comes out of it.
Let’s see where time takes me.
