We’ve just made an order today for veterinary drugs for our furry clients at the Sanctuary but also for our Strand station next week. Any help towards the cost would be greatly appreciative. We have quite a lot of poorly dogs on the Sanctuary that came into us in bad health that we are trying to support, but we also have Dogs that we need to continue medication on strand station. 🙏 dogsonthestreets.org

🐾❤️ FIDDLE UPDATE – SOME GOOD NEWS AT LAST! ❤️🐾 After a very busy week, as usual, we wanted to give you all an update on Fiddle, the beautiful dog who was involved in a road traffic accident a few weeks ago. We are so pleased to let you know that Fiddle has now left the veterinary hospital and is back at our sanctuary, where we are continuing her aftercare. Fiddle has suffered a broken pelvis, along with quite a number of internal and external injuries. She is still not out of the woods, and there is a long road to recovery ahead of her, but we are encouraged by the fact that her tail is wagging! She is currently in our medical block, receiving round-the-clock care and lots of love from our team. On Monday, we will be taking her back to the vets to have her stitches removed. Providing all goes well, she will then return to her owner to continue her strict rest and aftercare. There are still many veterinary appointments ahead of us, and further surgery may be necessary, so we will continue to take things one day at a time and do everything we can to help Fiddle recover. And now, we need to say a very heartfelt THANK YOU. ❤️🙏 It was through your incredible kindness and generosity with donations that we were able to cover the cost of Fiddle’s treatment so far. Without your support, she simply would not have had the chance she has today. Every donation, every share and every kind message has meant so much to us. When emergencies like Fiddle’s happen, your support makes all the difference between being able to help and having to turn away. We still have a way to go, but for now, we are just so grateful that Fiddle is back with us, safe in our medical block and receiving the care she desperately needs. From all of us at Dogs on the Streets, thank you for caring, thank you for giving, and thank you for helping us give Fiddle a chance. 🧡 peoplesfundraising.com/fundr…

After nearly 50 years working as a civil servant at RAF Lossiemouth, Kenneth thought he could rely on his pension after retirement. Then Capita tool control of his pension scheme. Despite retiring in May, Kenneth hasn't been paid a penny by Capita. And he's not alone. Thousands are left without an income by outsourced incompetence. 📣 Pls shout out and share, and tell Capita to pay up or move over ♻️ #CapitaFail #PensionRights

All of this. Removing benefits for young people is going to leave them in an unconscionable position. Show me an example, where cutting young people's benefits has provided them with better outcomes.
So predictable. Whatever the idea or crisis - Thatcherism, neoliberalism, the Third Way, globalisation, debt, pandemic etc - the prescription is always go after the incomes of the poorest. Instead of radical change we get tinkering within a broken system theguardian.com/society/2026…

SATURDAY SUPER £1 — EVERY POUND MATTERS 🧡 We’re still trying. And we’ll keep trying for every dog who needs us, for as long as we possibly can. Because behind every dog who comes into our care is a story, a need, and a life worth fighting for. We’ve just welcomed a dog into our sanctuary care suffering from a severe urine infection. Getting the medication needed to treat this poorly dog has cost us nearly £200 at wholesale cost alone. That’s before the food, bedding, ongoing care and all the other essentials our dogs need. This is the reality . The costs never stop, the needs keep coming, and we simply cannot do it without your help. That’s why we’re asking you to donate just £1 this Saturday. £1 might not seem like much, but when lots of kind people come together, those pounds can help us buy vital medication, provide essential care and give dogs who have nowhere else to turn a chance. We’re not giving up. We’re still fighting. And we’ll keep fighting for these dogs until we can’t try anymore. But we need you beside us. PLEASE DONATE £1 THIS SATURDAY.
Share this post to help us reach more people.
Every single pound really does make a difference. Donate today and help us keep going: dogsonthestreets.org/donate-… Thank you for standing with Dogs on the Streets and the dogs who need us most. 🧡 RT #DogsOnTheStreets #SaturdaySuper£1 #EveryPoundMatters #SmallDonationBigDifference

Tonight was one of those nights that left us speechless. 💔 There are very few nights on our soup run that truly leave us lost for words, but tonight was one of them. The sheer number of people, the desperation on their faces, and the overwhelming need for something as basic as a hot meal was heartbreaking to witness. At one stage, the pressure on our queue became so intense that the rope barrier came down and people surged forward towards the food tables. Our volunteers struggled to regain control, and having to ask people to step back, knowing how desperately they needed food, was absolutely heartbreaking. We even had to warn that we might have to stop serving if we couldn't restore order. Imagine having to say those words to people who are simply hungry. Tonight wasn't about people being difficult. It was about desperation. It was about hunger. It was about people struggling to survive. And that is what has stayed with us tonight. Despite everything, we made sure that every single person received a hot meal, a bag of food and essential supplies to help them through. Nobody was left without. Tonight, we had 450 hot meals, along with fresh vegetables, bananas, apples, oranges, yoghurts, fresh bread, brown bread, sandwiches, pastries and plenty of other goodies. Our tea and coffee station was also kept busy throughout the evening. A very special thank you to the Traveller Women's Sheds, who kindly donated all the beautiful treats from our wonderful coffee morning together earlier today. We brought everything down to our tea and coffee station, and our homeless friends thoroughly enjoyed every last bit. ❤️ But tonight has left us with a very real worry. How much longer can we continue to meet this growing need? How many more people are going to find themselves depending on soup runs just to eat? We know we are not alone. Across Dublin, other soup runs and homeless outreach groups are undoubtedly witnessing the same struggles, the same hunger and the same desperation. We cannot do this without your generosity, your donations and your continued support. Tonight reminded us, perhaps more than ever, why we do what we do. But it also reminded us just how frightening the level of need has become. These are human beings. They deserve dignity, compassion and the basic right to food. We went home tonight knowing everyone had been fed, but with heavy hearts, wondering what tomorrow will bring. From all of us at Muslim Sisters of Éire, thank you for helping us continue to be there. ❤️ #MuslimSistersOfEire #MSOE #HomelessnessIreland #DublinHomeless #SoupRun #FoodPoverty #HumanityFirst #CompassionInAction #CommunitySupport #NoOneShouldGoHungry msoe.ie/donate/

I’M GOING TO BE HONEST, BECAUSE THIS IS REAL LIFE, NOT A PR CAMPAIGN. I cannot keep carrying this level of worry without asking myself what more I’m supposed to do we sadly aren’t a polished charity with the big names, the celebrity endorsements, the fancy PR or the money to pay for people to give us a few words of support . We were just us. Raw. Real. Determined. And facing the dogs and cases that so many others would rather not look at. We don’t have a big budget to buy attention. We don’t have celebrity privileges to open doors. What we have is experience, compassion, determination and a willingness to stand beside the dogs who need us most, especially the most challenging cases. And here’s what really gets me… Major charities and services reach out to us daily for advice, guidance and help. We know what we’re doing. We have knowledge, experience and a genuine commitment to making a difference. We show up when things are difficult, messy and heartbreaking. Yet when we put our hands up and ask for support, collaboration, media exposure or simply someone to help us get our message out there, it can feel like we’re shouting into a void. Over the past few days, I’ve pushed social media campaigns, made shout-outs, tried to build collaborations and reached out in the hope of finding people who believe in what we do. Even an offer of PR and media volunteer support hasn’t brought the response we hoped for. And there’s another part of this that people may not realise. I do all of this voluntarily. I don’t take a penny in wages. There is no salary waiting at the end of the month for the hours, the worry, the responsibility or the emotional weight that comes with this work. I give my time, my energy and so much of myself because I believe these dogs and their owners deserve the help. walking away simply isn't something I can do lightly. Every single day brings another bill, another expense, another need that cannot simply be ignored. There are real costs behind the scenes, and the financial pressure never seems to take a day off. We can have all the compassion in the world, but we still need resources, practical support, connections and people willing to stand beside us if we’re going to keep doing this work. And I’m left asking myself: What more are we supposed to do? I’m not writing this for sympathy, and I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for us. I’m asking people to look beyond the size of a charity, the number of followers it has or the famous faces (not) attached to it. Look at the work. Look at the cases. Look at the commitment. Look at what can be achieved when people who genuinely care come together. I don’t want us to spend more time trying to convince people that we deserve support than actually getting that support to the dogs. I want us to be seen for what we ARE. So yes, I’m deflated. I’m worried. I’m questioning what the next step should be. But I’m also reminding myself why we started in the first place. We need PR and media volunteers. We need meaningful collaborations. We need people who can amplify our work, connect us with the right networks, help us raise awareness and turn visibility into practical support. If you can help, please reach out. Every genuine offer of help could make a difference. We might not have the biggest voices in the room, but we have something worth speaking up for. We are raw. We are real. We face the cases others find too difficult. We give our time voluntarily, and we keep showing up because the dogs still need us. We cannot do everything alone, and we shouldn't have to. We’re not asking for applause. We’re asking for people to stand alongside us and help us keep going. Not for recognition. Not for headlines. Not for ourselves. For the dogs. Always for the dogs 🧡 Thank you for listening & goodnight M x

BREAKING 🚨 | Households have spent an extra £14k on bills since 2021. Working people have been paying for the costs of foreign wars for too long. The government must take immediate action to reduce the cost of living - the answer is taxing the super-rich.

What I hear as a Rev, is that our people are tired of the stirring of tensions. They simply want to live in peace, & create a better home for our children May we amplify the voices of hope, peace and togetherness, & remind ourselves of what unites us rather than what divides us.

Impossible, surely, @StephenNolan to broadcast unsubstantiated allegations from a highly-partisan source like this. How many arrests? Who’s on the record? Basic journalist standards, abandoned. Nowhere else in the BBC would you get away with this.
Update: DUP Leader Gavin Robinson has told the Nolan Show tonight that he believes that police thought dissident republicans would shoot Orangemen and Police on Garvaghy Road. Gavin has urged the Chief Constable to make any information public. @BelTel
