I am disappointed by Sunderland City Council’s decision to withdraw its support for Wear Red Day 2026. @SRTRC_England has been well supported by people across #Sunderland, and Wear Red Day provides an important opportunity for our community to stand together against racism. Football has an incredible power to bring people together. Whatever the reason for the decision, the message remains clear: racism has no place in Sunderland.
