The most valuable CB's in the world this season on vs off the ball (xT created vs xT prevented):
- Renato Veiga in Messi Zone
- Cubarsí comfortably the best ball playing CB
- Van Hecke & Jacobo Ramón among the best dual threats

I genuinely think he could be a T2 RB in the league after a full season, his futures probably at CB but I think he’s too good as a RB now not to use him there
Clairement là où il serait le plus pertinent pour apporter sa qualité technique / créativité quand Palmer sort ou est absent.
I always envisioned Barco in attacking #8 areas (from FB) or 433 vs in a midfield two.
He’s too rushed in deeper areas, fearing he’ll lose it or be outmuscled, but he can defo help unlock doors with more freedom ahead.
Exclusive Alonso has been told to start playing ESTEVAO if he doesn’t play him, he’s at risk of losing his job #CFC
Bon évidemment tu vires pas un entraineur pour ça, et ce serait stupide même.
MAIS dans une relation saine de confiance c’est important d’alerter la personne quand elle fait une erreur et ne s’en rend pas compte.

Xabi Alonso claimed the physical and intense nature of English Football was a reason why Estevao is not getting more chances. Yet, the same manager brought him on against Arsenal, the most physical team in the league, and Estevao nearly scored a screamer despite only having nine minutes to make an impact. striver.football/the-game/ch…

No top winger should be defending like a RB.
I think people are missing the context here about Estevão regarding our style. Can he sustain running up and down with intensity like Neto this season?
Neto defended mostly as an RB yesterday. I believe that when we settle down and keep more of the ball, Estevão will be unleashed.
We are too direct and defend many transitions under Alonso. Nobody is looking at it from that angle. The direct style requires more sustained high-intensity runs than usual. Having had a bad injury from such an intense run last season isn't helping his case. They will want to be careful with the role they ask him to play. He needs to improve in that aspect, or he may have to wait until we get much better in possession.
Even though I want his situation to improve, I honestly do, but we can't say he can do better than Neto at what's required for this style of football. There is no way. He is currently a victim of circumstance, but I believe he is working hard to be more intense. He will get there. He will bounce back.

I get why Neto's "versatility" makes him important in Xabi's system, but my god does he get under my skin at times
Liverpool's backline is at the halfway line, which means there's acres of space for Neto to attack his matchup and run in behind
Guess what he does
