My entire life, I wondered how the world stood by as the Jews were shipped off to the gas chambers during the Holocaust.
Over the past year, I've stopped wondering. The entire Western political & media class has taught us exactly how genocides happen:
1) Dehumanize the victims
2) Manufacture atrocity propaganda
3) Ignore historical context
4) Obsess over one's own history of victimhood
5) Manufacture false claims of antisemitism
What's most shocking is just how easy it has been to compel an entire generation of media & political elites to support genocide.

We should elect a President by popular vote.
We also have a very serious undereducated and low media literacy issue, which was not helped by the media, who did an abhorrent job during this election cycle. And that should be examined too.
And given the pledges from Trump to crack down on our press, not sure why accurate reporting wasn’t prioritized.

Here at MFW we know tens of millions of Americans are nervous and worried about the upcoming #USElection result but can we please just say that for non-Americans this is a very scary time too.
Not because we generally give much of a shit about what you yanks are doing (any country with more guns than people, terrible healthcare, a rabid funding of genocide and which even lets Trump run in the first place doesn’t deserve much of the rest of the world’s respect), but because your next President will control both the nuclear codes and the action (or non-action) on climate which could destroy all of humanity.
So please spare a tiny thought amidst your generalised fear and angst in coming days for the many millions of us watching on in horror from lands far away from you and who can’t even fucking vote.

Here at MFW we adored @JaneyGodley and were lucky enough to have had some fantastic conversations with her about our activism and our campaigns.
She was a true witch and a wonderful loud sweary funny and very smart woman with absolutely no fucks to give.
Our deepest sympathies are with her family and close friends on her death. Her long, hard battle has ended but many people will be devastated by her passing.
May we all be more like Janey. We will miss her very much. xx
