ALT Screenshot of text: Rarely have I been as excited to put the finishing touches on a project—three years in the making and, to my knowledge, the first thing of its kind, this collection of 25 audio tracks with original Latin text and professionally produced background music is designed to help learners and teachers firm up their Latin while cultivating a practice of peace and calm. These ʻAcroamata Tranquillaʻ (ʻcalm listening sessionsʻ) can be used for classroom warmups or transitions, as the centerpiece of a lesson, or outside the classroom for listening practice, general relaxation, or even improved sleep. (I originally wrote the texts with autodidacts in mind, and later decided to expand their usefulness by creating and including a shorter, simpler version and a longer, more complex version of each.) The collection includes not only the audio, but also full transcripts, Latin-English interlinear versions, and tips for getting the most out of the recordings and texts.
