I hope asking DOI for £3.5m doesn’t mean that any costs will fall on the taxpayer?
It was a Braddan Commissioners decision to build this thing, it shouldn’t be up to the taxpayer to bail them out because it’s gone wrong
There could be a potential rates impact for Braddan residents to meet the cost of new leisure centre - 20% increase would be "worst case scenario

Apparently pubs played a key role in "supporting the UK's economy" in November as people went to their local to watch the World Cup. All the more reason for the Government to support them now.

Just thought I might update you on the latest ‘best’ energy deal available for a pub of our size.
We were paying 15p/unit in May. This is the best quote available today. – at Birkenhead, England

Is the govt encouraging the public to still go out & celebrate Xmas a sign that they recognise the damage the sector has endured and they want to protect hospitality or is it their way of wriggling out of the need to provide fiscal support to the sector! 🧐

Imagine being in the Middle of a once in 100 years worldwide crisis and blaming your countries small business owners for not predicting it. I am disgusted with the attitude of some elected representatives

Our #UKPubs are more than a place for a pint! They are social hubs and can be, for many, where we catch up with friends & family!

At least they've accepted we're going to need help now, but is £1500 really enough? I just don't think there's a one size fits all number here. Maybe scaled based on number of employees or similar would be better. Easily checked by ITIP payments.
