No buses are running through Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station this evening. TfGM staff are on hand to direct people to some of the stops where services have been rerouted. Below is an image of one of them on Princess Street.

Spoke to some commuters who have been impacted by today’s water problem.
One person said: “TfGM need to sort it out.”
Another added: “I’m only taking the bus today the trams aren’t working.”
While one student was understanding, “it can’t be helped,” she said.

Streams are running down Portland Street, but the junction with Chorlton Street is where the biggest puddle is.
People are having to hop, skip and jump their way across the street this evening.

Some more reaction to today’s events. “I’ve been here 30 years and for the most part this is a quiet area, this has come as a bit of a shock,” a woman told me.

News of the woman’s death is starting to spread with locals understandably shocked.
One person described the incident as “heavy” while another simply said “that poor woman.”

Forensics seem to be carrying bags of evidence from Staplehurst Lane. GMP has confirmed the tragic death of a woman in her 20s.
The scenes on Edmonton Road and Briscoe Lane remain.
