Our recent polio awareness and vaccination campaign together with the Rotaract Clubs of "Lake Victoria and Butabika" was a powerful reminder of the importance of immunization in protecting our children and building a polio-free future.
Thank you to everyone who joined us.
Join us at the Rotary Club of Port Bell today as we discuss some strategies to get us through this financial season, but most importantly build buffers for future economic shocks.📉💵

This World Polio Day, @rotaryd9213 calls on everyone to help @EndPolioNow.
Every child vaccinated brings us closer to a polio-free world, but immunisation and surveillance efforts need sustained funding to reach every child.
Your donation (rotary.org/donate) can help protect children. Every contribution counts.
One Drop. A Lifetime of Protection.

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼. 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀?
Ending polio is a massive global effort, @Rotary and its partners cannot do it alone.
You have a part to play! Here are three ways to help make history;
1. 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲
Volunteer, support immunisation activities and help communities protect every child from polio.
2. 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀
We are closer than ever to eradicating polio, but the work is not over. Funding remains vital for immunisation and surveillance.
Through the @gatesfoundation’s 2:1 match, donations to Rotary’s PolioPlus Fund are tripled in impact.

3. 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲
Raise awareness, share accurate information and encourage others to support polio eradication.
Spread the word and inspire others to join the fight.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀?
To end polio, we must stop the transmission of wild polio virus in the countries that continue to report cases and halt outbreaks of variant polio virus.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸: 𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼
If polio is not fully eradicated and the work is halted, we could see a global resurgence of the disease with as many as 200,000 new paralytic cases each year over the next 10 years, all over the world.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Polio anywhere is a threat to children everywhere. As we get closer to ending polio, we need to increase disease detection, to ensure the virus is truly gone from every corner of the world. We rely on the program's extensive surveillance and laboratory network to tell us where polio does (and does not) exist.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁
Together with our partners, governments, community leaders, health workers, and volunteers, we must stay vigilant and must continue to immunize every single child against polio.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘆𝘀:
Donations to PolioPlus pay for technical expertise, social mobilization.
