Guy with the IQ of a sack of hammers can't possibly fathom why people who are sick of his shit decided to vote early.
lmao -- Mitch Sylvestre says he both accepts and doesn't accept the results of the referendum, pointing to the mysterious and always nefarious mail-in ballot numbers

Reporter: Comment on your new rules helped make this happen? Smith: Our rules didn't do this. Ask the other guy. Oh, and also, yes our rules did this.
"They should call @LukaszukAB from Forever Canada, he's the reason it was on the ballot." Premier Smith asked about Albertans frustrations over having to have a separation referendum, and she rebuffs any responsiblility for the question being asked.

Deepest condolences to those killed and injured in Wainwright, their families and the soldiers who responded to the crisis. Thoughts are with the PPCLI today, who I had the privilege of working with in Wainwright in 2015.

If it weren't for law enforcement, who would trespass on your property and kill your pets?
🚨 A family opened their back door to let their dog out... and a cop they didn't know was there KILLED her in five seconds. Then he pointed his gun at her OWNER. Her name was Tesla. A 3-year-old black Lab from Rochester, New York. October 19th, 2018. Police were chasing two suspects through backyards. They already had them in CUFFS. It was OVER. But Officer Javier Algarin hopped the Dempsey family's fence AGAIN. No warrant. No knock. Nobody inside even knew he was there. Three seconds later, Charles Dempsey opened the back door. Tesla ran off her OWN porch into her OWN backyard. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Hey!" BANG. BANG. Five seconds. She was DEAD. Then he turned the gun on Charles. "LEAVE MY PROPERTY!" Charles screamed. "Get back!" the officer yelled. Years later, under oath: Could this have been avoided if you'd just knocked and asked permission? His answer: "Yes." The family fought for seven years. A federal jury found him PERSONALLY liable. $125,000. Rochester's training? "DELIBERATE INDIFFERENCE." At least 6 dogs killed by that department from 2017 to 2019. And that officer? He's STILL on the job. In 5 days it'll be EIGHT YEARS since Tesla died in her own yard. HOW IS HE STILL WEARING A BADGE?!!!!!!

Two angles in this massive Emera/Canadian Utilities merger to watch: -Scale to major chase cross-country transmission infrastructure projects that are part of Ottawa's push to integrate power grids East-West-North -Newly streamlined ATCO betting on significant buildout of defence and Arctic infrastructure: “There's approximately $180 billion in defence procurement opportunities ahead of us, and $290 billion in defence-related capital investment over the coming decade, primarily in Canada's Arctic,” CEO Nancy Southern said. thelogic.co/news/emera-merge… $EMA.TO $ACO.X.TO $CU.TO

What Rob is really saying is that he thinks his voter base is dumb and will believe anything.
What the Mayor is really saying here is that he believes in an open border immigration system and that every Albertan (Canadian citizen and permanent resident) should pay for guest workers to have free health care and education. Good luck with that argument Mr. Mayor.

Ontario voters, take note: Tax freezes don't work - unless the goal is to pay more later. It's a populist move to buy votes that comes back to bite municipalities with huge increases. Any politician who runs on a freeze is self-serving and not smart.
I’m not going to lie to you, Calgary. Our water pipes are in piss poor condition. And after a 10-year freeze, we have to increase our water rates to make the system safe.

Vassy: When you say that your caucus is united, that's blatantly false. It's not. Why is this individual who wants to effectively break up the country allowed to remain in your caucus? Danielle Smith: You don't have unanimous agreement on 100% of the things 100% of the times.

Fun fact: they're the same thing. And that's the point - didactic stories and archetype characters. You'd think Johnny freakin Blaze would get that.
Nicolas Cage says the Marvel Cinematic Universe "is becoming a well-funded and glorified WWE." “I do say this with love, but when I see these 50-plus and otherwise intelligent and remarkably gifted thespians putting on these ridiculous outfits and getting ready for the fight — let’s face it, it’s all cutting to the fight — it’s hard for me not to be reminded that the MCU is becoming a well-funded and glorified WWE.” variety.com/2026/film/news/n…

Municipal official plans are centered around the idea that we don't need to build too many suburban homes for young families because seniors will downsize. Municipalities then do everything in their power to ensure seniors don't downsize.
Permanently freezing property taxes for seniors allows them to age in place and keep the homes they built. Eligibility: 👵 65 or older 📆 Owned their home for 20+ years 1️⃣ Home is primary residence 🏚️ Don't own more than 1 home Affordability plan👉️ alvintedjo.ca/affordability

Not all heroes wear capes. Good kid.
One of the best parts of being Mayor is recognizing Calgarians who step up. Theo is only six years old, but his quick thinking helped stop a potentially deadly fire. It was an honour for Council to recognize Theo and his proud mom and dad at City Hall. Calgary is proud of you, Theo!

White, Canada-born man who got kicked out of the military: shoots up a synagogue. Conservatives: Immigration did this!

And there will be no apology from the cons who jumped to blame immigrants and muslims....just like Jesus would want I guess?
The Canadian Armed Forces says the shooter at the Belleville synagogue was ex-military. He served July 2017 until he released in June 2022 at the rank of corporal. He was an infantry soldier in the PPCLI. Zero deployments.
