On Mountain Rescue Awareness Day, we send our heartfelt thanks to all those who volunteer their time and expertise to keep people safe in some of our most beautiful but challenging landscapes.
Through our connection with this remarkable organisation, we have seen first-hand the dedication, professionalism and compassion that define their work.
Meeting local mountain rescue teams during the Three Peaks Challenge this summer was an opportunity to say thank you in person for the vital role they play in keeping walkers and climbers safe on the mountains all year round.
We are incredibly proud to support the extraordinary volunteers who respond in all conditions, often at a moment’s notice, to help others when they need it most. To everyone across the mountain rescue community, thank you for your unwavering commitment, courage and service.

Prince William appears on The Graham Norton Show to discuss his love of Traitors... and the job he'd have if he wasn't first in line to throne trib.al/ld0ZcSz
He also discusses how he is a proper fan of Celebrity Traitors - as are his kids.
‘I love it, the family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good telly.’
Asked if he ever fantasised about doing anything other than being King one day, he says, “I did want to be a policeman when I was younger, I thought I could make a good one. And then I went through a phase of wanting to be a DJ – I wasn’t very good.”
He says of @EarthshotPrize Prize: ‘For many years I was hearing stories about environment issues and one thing that struck me was the negativity and doom which got me down. I thought we could do something more powerful and more optimistic and the idea of an awards’ ceremony came about and we could talk about urgency and optimism together. It’s all about getting excited.
‘There are some amazing people out there doing things to protect the world. We could really highlight what is being done and scale them to the next level to have more impact around the world.’
Prince William becomes only the third senior royal ever to appear on a chat show to highlight his forthcoming @EarthshotPrize 📺

Sixty years on, we remember the 144 people who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.
Today, The King and The Queen, with The Prince of Wales, spent time at the Aberfan Memorial Garden and the Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre to honour their memory.
The Aberfan Memorial Garden stands on the site of Pantglas School, where 109 children and 5 teachers died when the coal tip collapsed onto the village.
Watch His Majesty’s speech in full on our YouTube channel (link in bio).
I know I write about the royals, but this from Aberfan today just broke me.
It’s from Diane Thomas, 78, a rescuer from the Red Cross who was only 18 at the time of the disaster, and spoke to Prince William.
She said: ‘The chapel had been converted into a mortuary so I spent three nights in the mortuary, bathing the children, to try and get slurry off their little faces so their parents could recognise them.
‘I took the anorak off one little boy, put my hand in his pocket and came out [with a note that] he’d had eight out of 10 for spelling. I’ve been trying all these years to think about how I can trace his mum. I can’t but I want to tell her because I was the last person to hold him and bathe him.’
This is why today is so important.
The thought that he would have been so excited to run home and tell her how well he had done and never got the chance to do so….. and the idea of an 18-year-old girl taking such tender care of each young victim amidst a scene of such terrible tragedy…..what a beautiful soul.
After the disaster, Diane Thomas decided she wanted to help children, becoming a social worker.
On the royal visit, she said, “They’ve got an empathy. Prince William’s lost a mum, he knows what grief is … the King has lost people, the Queen has lost people, they’ve already got an empathy with grief. The fact that they’ve come here today to see all this grief and all this hurt is marvellous.”
She said William told her her experience was “unbelievable at such a young age”.
