The most undervalued skill of our time is the ability to write. In an analog world, talking was the main currency of communication and connection. In a digital world, there's a growing premium on the capacity to convey thoughts in text. The pen is mightier than the spoken word.

Reading is the core of all instruction. All subjects, including math, science, and social studies, require literacy skills.

Making sure your child reads every day for 20-30 minutes is crucial for them to read on grade level. Next time you read with your child try this reading tip: After finishing a story, have your child repeat or draw the big events of the story in chronological order.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. Start the New Year off right by ensuring your child is at school on time, every day. Good attendance helps children do well in school. #EveryMinuteCounts
