S24 series = LPDDR5X. no DDR5T
Update from this
teapawt.net/RGcloudS/status/170891…
Galaxy S24 series = 2200nits
no 2500.
2500nits version only for iPhone 16
What's new in HP2SX ?
Although HP2 performs great enough, it's actually a failure. that was rushed production, too much optical losses due to grid distance shrinking
Super QPD { μm lens / 4 bayer } replaced with new solution.
advanced Q-cell + DCC
as you can see on Image #4
although it seems different from published paper, I'm told there are pentagonal structure
no further details.
can't explain. I'm confused as well
• Check Image 3
This slight modification improved focusing & low light performance significantly. picture details are noticeably different { 23U - 24U }
What's new on HP2 on S25U ?
iTCG + DSG 16bit
12bit ADC
I think samsung should update hp2 product page.
5x tele may be not called IMX
maybe Z
F/3.0
Qualcomm have approved samsung 3nm, may appear on gen 4 oryon
Samsung 3GAP is significantly better than 3GAE, you may want to read it
ieeexplore.ieee.org/document…
3nm MBCFET
22% speed/performance & 34% power/efficiency compared to 4nm
It's even higher than what tsmc gain
on N3E vs 5nm, 18% & 32%
Mbcfet also allows 70% higher current for peak performance, which is perfectly suitable for oryon.
Fun fact,
N3B 3.7ghz was tested for hpc chips
but apple put it on bionic 17
which cause overheat on heavy workload
reference : ieeexplore.ieee.org/document…
Samsung may skip vizion 44D to 55D

some paper reference on Image 4
Isocell GNU, strongest samsung sensor even killed HP2
some references on Image 4
Isocell HW / xiso-cell only for resolutions below 100mp.
Nano photonics can't be installed for high mp. It requires 3x more computing power
*some informations are acquired directly from author, no full pdf version.
Some of these already changed
But not really on S24
I don't think entire S24 series would use 2500 nits ( max version of M13 )
my false info from last year ↓
teapawt.net/RGcloudS/status/…
S24 series supposed to have only 2150-2200 nits max
there's no way they skipped this
because samsung still consider costcut the display by using smaller emitters. yes it's M13 material, but same emitters size from M11
*you can zoom M11 vs M12 iP14 to know what i mean by small & bigger emitters*
or i can say by their trademark
diamond pixel vs round diamond pixel
the differences between these pixel arrangements & size are just brightness, due to it's smaller size
efficiency, accuracy, etc still the same
2 different versions
M13 diamond pixel 2200 nits
M13 R. diamond pixel 2500 nits
I would expect S24 & S24+ use standard M13
only S24 Ultra use M13 full version
S24 & 24+ 2200 nits
S24 Ultra 2500 nits
or even worst, all variants use standard M13
other possibilities
S24 & 24+ M13 8 bit UDR1500
S24 Ultra M13 10 bit UDR2000
or
S24 & 24+ M12+
S24U standard M13 UDR1500
both displays, whatever happened Ultra confirmed would have different advanced ETL layer for ultimate efficiency from doosan solus
Samsung & Apple isn't the type of company that gives massive upgrade/generation
1750- 2200 are already big for a matte finish display
unless they want to play with numbers like chinese brands
like until now, no tester can reach 2500 & 2600 brightness claim of Opp X6 Pro and Xiaomi 13U
already mentioned earlier M13 would reach 2500, but if the rumours said all variants use the same display . . . .
that would be so hard to believe
teapawt.net/RGcloudS/status/162705…
The adoption of M13 panel, which is big upgrade from S23, was possible because samsung just transferred key tadf material production from germany to korea. significantly cheaper
The next biggest upgrade is M16 at
3000 nits with half power consumption of M11 at 1750 nits
Some ppl couldn't understand
Because i always cut most of my posts to meet the rate limit
and 4 pictures limit also annoying.
This post had exactly 4000 characters
Additional extension
*The image of tetra³ is purposely mistaken to not precede the author
36mp is 1.92μm not 1.28
the bayer layout also different.
it's 4x4 not 6x6
*Approved doesn't mean confirmed, qualcomm will see if 3gap yield proven to be 70%, or at least slightly lower
But since this is the first one, to avoid false news spreading
maybe i had too share the realistic one

The first phone with hw / xiso-cell & 432mp wouldn't be samsung
Which phone will have it first ?
432mp 1/0.92"
Starting from 2025,
big pixel size = better quality = myth. not prediction, already tested
new era of tiny pixels 💠
Some sensors name could be wrong
HR can capture 324mp at 12.5 fps
default setting 36mp
a HV version support 16K recording
Both hr & hv have the exact resolution for 4K & 8K. the smoothest & highest bitrate achievable on smartphone without stacked dram.
That's was impressive, Xiaomi.
Xiaomi 14 Pro Frame use 99% Pure Titanium, which is Grade 2/7
Xiaomi mentioned aerospace grade,
that must be Ti Grade 2
99% Ti + C + Fe + H + N + O
Xiaomi also use advanced 1016 linear vibration motor, which is usually equipped on flagship gaming phone
New cooling system ?
Ice Loop
Xiaomi claims their new cooling system is 300% better than VC
1024 stepless variable aperture ?
This is new. i hope they're real
That means you can freely choose aperture between F/1.42 - F/4.0
that's like 0.02519± each step
What's more interesting xiaomi also use self developed glass for front & back, claims it's stronger than victus 2
Dynamic 4-mic recording
Xiaomi claims they've developed 6 way algorithm for ultra clear sound quality. up down left right front back
4 5G antennas
and finally, USB 3.2 gen 2
20gbps ?
4k60 front
Hmm couldn't spot xiaomi weakness anymore. the least costcut
It's about time for apple & samsung to step up, feel the pressures like in 2019
Known from budget flagship, to real flagship from all aspects.
China pricing starts from $685
Meme of the year 🫠
How to fantasize, insult the entire community, and wrong
Anyway
I'm going to leave twitter by the end of this month, last batch of leaks coming
probably my longest ever
and the most accurate i've ever done.
You may underestimate this
but gen 3 really bring significant upgrades on flagship camera
Support for staggered hdr image sensors
less blurry hdr & better quality
combine shadow & highlight much faster
or what samsung called smart iso pro
• Support for DCG
{ dual conversion gain }
This is for 48-50mp hdr / raw capture
• Support for Multi Frame & QDOL
{ quad digital overlap }
for 14bit capture
on Android, currently only S23U & Xiaomi 13U have 14bit
Their 50mp quality would be amazing next year
Looks like iPhone prores gonna have a really tough competition . . . .
Less blanking hdr ?
well this is important, but sounds vague since there's no clear numbers / comparison
12 layers of semantic segmentation
This is big for ai camera that it could detect more objects in real-time
restoring the details & accurate colors
8 gen 3 also also support real-time AI processing on photo & video
furthermore, photo expansion ? video object eraser ? a lot of AIs
I don't really like photography but this gonna get me addicted 🫠
Actually i doubt a smartphone chip can be this strong to process these AI features, let's see if gen 3 worth the hype 👁️

Hexa²pixel ? RGBW ?
Samsung already made rgbw version for techno
Sony have imx866
Hexa² is different than any existing tech, 324 432 576
Now 576mp
There's several unnaounced products before this.
First, start from dual pixel
Isocell GN1 & 2 & 5 have dual pixel pro
means 1 photodiode split into 2
technically GN5 have the smallest sensor in the world, reaching 0.5μm size in september 2021
a year ahead omnivision claim as the smallest 0.56μm
some OVB0A presentation slides
magazine.semiconductordigest…
Finally, upcoming IMX903 have dual pixel. iPhone16 could have 96mp feature
Interestingly, not just dual pixel
Sony also catching up to samsung's game. IMX 907 is quad pixel
a 50mp sensor can capture 200mp
This would be fun for future iPhone, Fold & other compact devices
What is quad pixel?
below is samsung's version of upcoming GN sensor in late 2024
which could come to fold 8 instead the previous GN5
GN 8 1/1.22" 1.28 μm 50mp
1 photodiode split into 4
This is even stronger than current flagship HP2. crazy
Back to 576mp
This sensor combined
Quad Pixel
ieeexplore.ieee.org/document…
Dual VTG
ieeexplore.ieee.org/document…
Metaphotonic
opg.optica.org/abstract.cfm?…
Based on VTFET architecture
ieeexplore.ieee.org/document…
•2
ieeexplore.ieee.org/document…
Both Samsung & IBM working on 1.7nm for 2027
including next gen Isocell { CMOS }
vtfet is naturally gaafet, so there's good reason to jump directly to vtfet
What about 576 hexa²plus & hexa³ ?
Hexa²plus was my own guess based on more pixel binning options
576 - 96 - 48 - 16
More optimized recording for 12K { 80mp }, 8K { 35mp }, 4K { 9mp }
Hexa³ 216 binning ?
Hexa³ is indeed possible & most likely for automotive & for ultra high fps.
minimum mp for FHD is 2.1mp
576 : 216 = 2.6mp
also suitable for cctv cameras.

The question is
is it fAbRiCatEd ?
aBsUrD & uNrEaLiStiC ? 😹
Today I'm not just explaining charging, but the entire thread from link above.
First, about charging
That was an old tweet from may, 2 months before s24 series battery fixed
Why did i say 65W ?
Let's start from battery.
Samsung use 3C battery
maximum safe voltage for dense single cell type per C-rate is 22w
That's why several chinese phones have odd number, 66w charging
For dual-cell type, it's safe to go 25w each. means upto 150w charging for 6C { 3+3 } battery
Smartphones with 240w charging, use 10C battery. which is EV grade
especially from bbk groups, with 1600 cycle. this is the safest & highest battery quality
One of samsung battery supplier, ATL already have 5C years ago
atlbattery.com/en/product.ht…
Now samsung have 4 battery suppliers even though SDI & ATL already more than enough
to save some cost & stable battery price between regions
That's enough about battery.
Next : charging protocol algorithm
Before we talked about this,
you should know that software & several tiny chips are required to support the hardware capability
and they're not cheap
that's why qc4 qc5 pd 3.1 chargers are mostly 2-3x more expensive than lower variant especially powerbank
you could try to watch powerbank teardown / d.i.y built from scratch
Fun fact. quick charge 4+ - 5 module are more expensive than vapor chamber / super large copper plate cooling
In the case with Galaxy S23 Ultra, it support PD 3.0 for upto 100w charging
Let's take a look at teardown Image below ↓ 1 & 2
•Img 1 • Left
For wireless,
Samsung use CPS4038 that support 40w wireless charging & 10w reverse charging
Source : convenientpower.com/productd…
In reality, only 25w wireless & 7.5w reverse.
•Img 1 • Right
For wired,
Samsung use PCA9481AUK
unfortunately it was back picture, I can't find high quality teardown with top picture
Source nxp.com/part/PCA9481AUK#/
This another lame cost-cutting
as you can read, the chip only allows 3.6V max. which is lower than S23 & S24 battery voltage itself
This is why samsung can't reach 45w charging.
42w is maximum for the chip can handle
and extremely hard to reach 40w
65W is super easy for samsung to bring up, even with cheap single cell. included higher wireless
But cost-cut in all businesses are just disgusting. although it make sense for large-scale production
$2 cut per product can save them $20m after 10 million sales
I'm sure if huawei wasn't sanctioned apple & samsung already have 40 & 65w last year
That's all for 65W
What about 120W ?
Is Samsung using new battery?
Well. it's still based on lithium ion
with more matured stacked battery
but different anode material
you can read here

metalens are too small & complex to make that it needs duv machine for optimal result
samsung's 1st gen metalens could stretch upto 25%, that's why ultrawide sensor removed
main sensor still based on 24mm focal length, can stretch smoothly from 18mm - 30mm / 100° - 72° POV
honestly 18mm / 100° weren't enough for ultrawide, but in favor to save cost & make space for new HP5/7 tele sensor without decreasing battery capacity.
due to metalens, main sensor's 4x zoom can be extended to 5x
resulting super smooth zoom from 0.8x - 100x with just 2 sensors
I don't know if 27U tele limited to 100x, but 100x is minimum
max possibility is 200x
at 200mp, 5x optical - 50x digital - crop x4 lossless zoom = 200x
*50mp image
Still no info on magnification option for binned 12mp mode. this still too far
*New addition
S28U
HR1SP/U 324mp
Full version of HR series
Isocell zoom ultimate
6x lossless zoom + meta upto 7x
New metalens on telephoto
HP5/7 8x optical
variable 185mm - 205mm / 7~9x
14° - 12° POV
at 200mp, upto 36x lossless crop
smooth 0.8x - 180x zoom
180 is minimum
maximum possible range at 200mp
9x optical - 90x digital - 360x 50mp
Thanks to metalens, we're back to 2017 era. smartphones are flat again
nomore nonsense camera bump
S29U & beyond
HV1 576mp 1" 0.36μm
Telephoto sensor expected to adopt previous HR with 6x lossless crop
8x can zoom upto 540x
Samsung's metalens gen 2 can reach upto F/0.8 aperture ~ F/6
Need more details?
ask your mother 🗿
Yo this is too far already.
Samsung's goal is upto 576mp only for now, nobody knows what's beyond
576mp bump wouldn't be as thick as rumoured, that's completely false.
with metalens this would be flat / bumpless
DSLR market expected to lost significant value from 2027
The new era, battle of lens / nano technology
Camera sensor almost reached it's limit

S24U leak on January 2023?
well that's most likely wrong
but is it "fantasy" ?
L.O.L
It's an L shape periscope module, acquired from KIPRIS, unfortunately kipris link is encrypted
you can't copy paste / bookmark it
i tried to find all of the link references but give up.
there i give 3 patents, excluding abstracts

S23U 2200 nits?
already explained some here
teapawt.net/RGcloudS/status/…
M12 & M13 already exist since 2021
but M13 materials are new tadf oled, limited production
this is what i mean when i said they moved production from germany to korea
the inventor is cynora
{ acquired by Samsung on june 2022 }
cynora.com/technology-and-pr…
superior blue & green emitters

1750nits on ultra is wrong ?
Likesaid above, S23U use different aETL from 23&23+
it's the dimmest display at 0.8nits, and supposed be the highest among S23 series
and somehow samsung make them equal at 1750nits
There is several display tests from multiple sources that show S23U is noticeably superior despite the same 1750nits ad. just because they have the same brightness doesn't mean they're exactly the same

Why did i say UDR codec ?
Will it replace Dolby Vision ?
Well, the name was a guess
and i believe samsung may use similar name
Does Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos replacement exist ? Yes.
A google & samsung project
named " Project Caviar "
I already knew this when i talked about UDR.
teapawt.net/RGcloudS/status/158227…
You can search project caviar on any search engine to find other references
this is one of them
google.com/amp/s/www.protoco…
UDR1500 & 2000 have been announced
But somehow S23U, iP14 Pro, Pixel8 Pro, Oppo Vivo etc that use samsung panel with greater nits than 1500 doesn't even use UDR1500 trademark. that's why i believe UDR should be something special rather than just brightness.

8K@60/HDR rumour
Why did i said this?
First of all, video recording isn't exactly based on SoC.
as you know even the mighty Xiaomi 13 Ultra only support 8K24
So, if other flagships only support 8K24 why S23 can 8K30 ?
Because samsung developed their own MFD, here's one example
ieeexplore.ieee.org/document… { 5nm sram decoder }
unfortunately there's no public source for encoder
S23 series 8K recording are significantly smoother than S22 despite 6fps differences
As i said before samsung decisions are based on competition, and 8K60/HDR is 100% ready.
The current S23 bitrate is upto 200mb at 8K30
8K60 fps is 300mb
if vanilla s23 support 200mbit
there's no reason s23u couldn't support 300mbit with superior tech
that's why i said there this isn't for S23 & 23+
but in the end that just their random decision. not to mention HP2 is nerfed than what described on original paper
2x faster frame rate than HM3
FHD 240 → 480
but 4K & 8K stay the same

I don't know why did he pick this
eco²oled is valid, it's used to Z series to compensate their small battery. so more reason for customers to buy galaxy Z without feeling inferior
S23+ use M11+ was wrong
S23U use M12+/13 ?
Well, i did say S23U use different display
and i mentioned M11+, 12+ many times
because i don't know the name, and noone knows
not even samsung name S23U display till now
based on reliable tester
xda-developers.com/samsung-g…
S23U use new green & red emitters
and same blue M11
23U also use same aETL from fold&flip, that's how 23u could reach 0.8nits
S23U display name is still mystery, not even cat can explain it
yet insulting. god level retard

"there's no urgency for exynos comeback" is indeed correct.
S23 series full snapdragon
S24 was doubtful
but exynos clearly back now
not to mention i was the first to say 24ultra global snapdragon since april
teapawt.net/RGcloudS/status/…
S25 profit may be higher / 50% due to more chip dualization
with dream chip. i can almost guarantee global S25 series use dream & snapdragon
usually only X cores are customized, but in dream chip
X5 A7 & A5 are fully customized by arm & LSI. not factory default
