Time is a flat circle.
New conference, new players, new arena, new bargaining power - it doesn't matter. Led by Andy Toole, RMU basketball is back to being an annual contender, just like they were in the NEC days.

Robert Morris managed to stick with Nevada through the first 14 minutes of the season opener before the bottom fell out on the Colonials as they fell in blowout fashion, 86-49.

The last two seasons we have trailed 17-2 and 30-2 in our openers. I think we have a chance to clear that bar tonight. 🤣

➡️Eddie Cooke was not dressed but was not in a boot or sling.
➡️ Will Occomy (Linblom Academy) was the only first-year player in the rotation.

RMU has a very tough matchup opening night, traveling to the west coast to take on a very talented Nevada. Nevada is coached by Steve Alford, who’s been around forever and has won everywhere he’s been, including Nevada. The Wolfpack look like they’ll be in the running for the MWC conference title this year. They are lead by All Conference PF Elijah Price who returned to the Wolfpack after a stellar 2025-26 season. Vaughn Weems also returns for Nevada after averaging 10 PPG and 4 RPG. RMU has a tough task ahead of them but I think they have a chance to pull off the upset.
What I’ll Be Watching For
• I think RMU matches up very well with Nevada. The Wolfpack does have a lot of length on the perimeter. If RMU backcourt doesn’t seem bothered with Nevada’s length and size that will bode well for Bobby Mo.
• How deep will Coach Toole go. I think we’ll see 8 for sure, but after that there are a lot of freshmen and uncertainty. But Coach Toole isn’t afraid to go deep into his bench to look for a spark. I’ll be interested to see the pecking order for the back end of the bench. I’m very high on Michael Parlow. I think he can be a key contributor off the bench for The Colonials.
Game Prediction
Under no circumstance do I ever count out a Coach Toole lead team. He will have them prepared and ready to play. The 10:00pm tip worries me a little bit. I think this game is very close throughout and is going to come down to the wire. But the home court advantage and time change is too much for RMU to overcome. Nevada wins by 5.

Robert Morris used a dominant first half, and big-time performances from Jalik Dunkley and Darius Livingston, to beat Canisius, 87-74.
