It’s so important that women have a comprehensive check-up with their GP six to eight weeks after giving birth – as much for their mental wellbeing as for their physical health. This guidance published today will support GPs to provide new mothers with the very best care.
The NHS is boosting health support for new mums, publishing new guidance to provide more comprehensive six to eight-week check-ups after birth.
The check-ups cover mental health, physical recovery, infant feeding and family planning.
