Since March 2025, Ukraine has agreed to a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire. We call on Russia to finally do the same.
Ukraine wants peace. We want peace. Russia must stop its aggression, accept a ceasefire, and engage meaningfully in negotiations towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with international law.

A good day for friendship, a strong hope for freedom and for a future built on dreams, protected from fear.
In our three countries we did more this past year, together, on connectivity and human connections, than we did in the last decade.
Because we know now that we are stronger together.
I had a good catch up with my Romanian colleague @oana_toiu. Ukraine and Romania are close neighbors and strategic partners, with a shared interest in a secure and stable Black Sea region.
Our Odesa Triangle with Moldova is already delivering results. We want to build on this momentum and deepen practical cooperation between our three countries.
It is especially symbolic to meet today in Chișinău as we stand with Moldova on its Independence Day. The security and European future of our three countries are closely interconnected. A stronger Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova mean a stronger and more secure Europe.

On Jul 22, DM Koizumi held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Rutte. They welcomed their reunion since NATO Summit in Ankara 2 weeks ago, and concurred to further strengthen Japan-NATO collaboration.

Today, the European Union took a major step forward.
All Member States agreed to open the first accession negotiations cluster with Ukraine and Moldova.
At the first Intergovernmental Conference on Monday, we will open the cluster on fundamentals; the backbone of the accession process.
It covers the core values and principles on which the EU is built, from the rule of law to strong democratic institutions.
This is a recognition of the determination, courage and hard work shown by both countries in advancing reforms, even in the face of immense challenges.
