The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has secured an order from the Special Tribunal that freezes the assets of Mr Nhlakanipho Mngomezulu following the unlawful receipt of Temporary Employer/Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) funds.
Their arrests followed an SIU investigation into their alleged involvement in a R13 million TERS fraud syndicate. The trio faces extensive charges, including 40 counts of theft, 40 counts of fraud, money laundering, and contravening Section 5 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA), Act 121 of 1998.
