Despite the huge impact of the Living Wage movement, there are still 3.5 million workers in the UK in low paid and insecure work
👉Join the growing movement of over 15,000 employers who are going beyond the Government's minimum and paying REAL Living Wage livingwage.org.uk

🏙️As of the latest rate increase in October 2024, the real Living Wage stands at £12.60 per hour across the UK and £13.85 per hour in London to reflect the city's higher living costs.
The Government's rate doesn't factor in the higher cost of living in the capital.

The Government’s rate is the legal minimum that employers must pay — which is separate to the real Living Wage which is a voluntary standard based on what it actually costs to live.

Young people deserve to be paid fairly too, and with rents skyrocketing this issue has never been more important.
The Government's National Living Wage only applies to workers over the age of 21, whereas the real Living Wage applies to all workers 18 and over.

Unlike the Government’s rate, the real Living Wage is independently calculated by @resfoundation based on the cost of living, accounting for essentials like housing, food & travel, as well as things that allow a decent standard of living - like a present for a child’s birthday🎁

Hint - ONLY the real Living Wage rates are independently calculated based on what people actually need to live.
But that's not all, read on to find out the other key ways the rates differ👇
