Ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Athletic Club, Hansi Flick was asked about Lamine Yamal’s recent performances and the challenges the young star has been facing. Flick responded, “Lamine is an exceptional player, and I don’t think we should judge him solely on a few difficult performances. He has already produced so many outstanding moments and matches for Barcelona, and we shouldn’t allow a temporary dip in form to overshadow everything he has accomplished. At the moment, Lamine is also going through some personal challenges, including a difficult period in his relationship, while dealing with the physical and mental demands of recovering from the World Cup. These things can affect any young player. Our responsibility at Barcelona is to support him, give him confidence, and help him regain his happiness and best form on the pitch. We have complete faith in his ability, and I’m confident that he will soon return to his very best.”
