Make schools more rigid. Insist that children stop playing years before they are ready for it. Impose a one size fits all system on everyone - and when it doesn't work for an increasing number, say that they are the problem, not the system. theguardian.com/uk-news/2023…

This case (I'm trying to not be dramatic) makes me think a lot of the culture I see in large organisations I work in and work with. Management are so detached from the actual practice that impacts people that they can deny/ignore blatantly appealing practice.

I'm so tired of people setting outcomes (tends to be schools) like this "By Y4 X will be able to regulate all emotions in an appropriate way so they can have good relationships with others" . People, do you TRULY know any 8 or 9 year old who is in control of ALL their emotions?
Cause you would be meeting someone quite outside the norm of NORMAL emotional development. Children are not supposed to be little robots that make the "right" decisions at all times.
No kid is like this, these are delusional expectations that no child, especially kids with SEND will achieve. Really makes me go #EducationalPsychology #SEND #education

📢EPs provide vital services. Yet, local authorities are not investing in the profession and face a recruitment & retention crisis.
They've offered pay rises of between just 2-5% : far lower than inflation and the 6.5% recommended for teachers.
