ALT An educational graphic titled "Know Where To Go" explains safety when a Tornado Warning and Flash Flood Warning occur simultaneously. The graphic features a cross-section diagram of a house next to a tornado and rising water, using green checkmarks for safe zones and red X's for unsafe areas. Safe locations are restricted to central, windowless interior rooms and hallways on the lowest floors. Unsafe locations include the attic, exterior bedrooms, the kitchen, the living room, and anywhere outdoors. Text boxes clarify that top floor rooms offer no tornado protection and are a last resort only if forced upward by rising water. Exterior rooms and rooms with windows fail to protect from tornadoes, and no outdoor areas or ditches are safe during concurrent flooding. The main advice is to shelter in a windowless interior room on the lowest floor safely possible, maintaining quick access to move higher if fleeing rising water becomes necessary.

ALT The KBMX radar remains offline, but techs are working diligently to get it back up as soon as possible. Central Alabama is well-covered by other radars, and the National Weather Service in Birmingham will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and issue all necessary watches and warnings to protect life and property.
