Critiquing China for offering loans or infrastructure development on the premise that it’s “neo-colonialism” assumes that African nations are not capable of negotiating terms or managing repayment, which undercuts African agency.
Dr. Victor Gao was attacked by two African “students” during the Doha Forum. They argued that China’s investments and aid to African countries should be unconditional and obligatory—anything else, according to them, is “hypocrisy” and neo-colonialism.
One has to admit, Africa’s underdevelopment is indeed well-deserved, earned through sheer competence.

China has been extorting Africa with predatory loans and deals for over a decade now and you don’t hear anything about it from activists who are apparently against imperialism
The Mayor in Uganda who confronted the tofu Chinese scam builders isn't stopping his duty anytime soon.

He's exposing the construction theft: corner-cutting, bad techniques, poor materials, weak structures, and every kind of shortchanging.
He will ultimately send them packing, let them go build trash back in China.
Ronaldo Balimwezo is what competence and real leadership look like.
Imagine how much money Uganda would have saved over the years by keeping profit-only scam contractors out.
This is called hands-on management, the kind that builds great cities.
Construction means structures on the ground, not reports on office tables or images on boardroom slides.
Uganda, this should be your everyday standard: inspect it, it's your money, chase bad builders away.
It's time to cancel contracts with bad builders, no more excuses, no more delays.
African infrastructure has become easy money for scam Chinese contractors and corrupt bureaucrats.
That era must end.

The great man is gone - an influence on a diverse set of musicians from Santana to John Martyn and countless others - his uplifting spiritual jazz was like going to church. We won’t see/hear his kind again in our lifetime.
