But I think closing out my year by sharing this track is probably the best way I can acknowledge the guy. "Sad, Fat Luck" is the anthem of a decade that just seemed to get relentlessly harder. It's about balancing futility and passion, but also never knowing when enough is enough

Mdou has a way of taking these understated noodles and just letting them unfold naturally. I thought I'd share the live clip, too, because it's pretty enchanting stuff. We were in the middle of our big move and this was great to put on during our many long drives.

This nearly made it only my best of the year list. This track is one of many infectiously catchy jams that pack this record. There's a lot of familiarity in this upbeat UK indie sound, but these guys really nail it.
Arresting vocals really lend a unsettling arc to this glitched-out trance of a track. I love it, the record was overall solid, and this sort of bleak tranquility really stood out to me.

Obviously wasn't ORIGINALLY released in 2019, but this remaster has breathed new life into one of my favorite records of all time. CoF is not known for their subtlety, but this mix reveals dimensions previously unheard. If this had been released today, it would still blow minds.

Following up a single (this one, actually), two members of Blut Aus Nord strike out with this ferocious debut. It's an abrasive and surreal record that swirls around in the dark parts of your brain. While constantly towing an unpleasant line, it's the balance that impresses.

For Christmas, I'm gifting all of you a track off of my absolute favorite album of the entire year. This album is a spastic thrill ride of rapid tempo changes and gang vocals (which I'm a sucker for). Energic, methodical, and a whole hell of a lot of fun from top to bottom.

Here's a relaxing spin for you on Christmas Eve. A really beatiful little record, albeit disappointingly short - but that's a selfish criticism. While the albums meanders through delightful and thoughtful pieces, this one was probably my favorite, perhaps because it's the longest

What a wonderful little EP this was - 4 tracks that meander through fun and funky territory. Packed w/ more groove than most people deserve, this EP was 24 delightful minutes that I've revisited throughout the year. Also, got to share this sick (extended) Basement Session.
