For the last few years, the Democratic strategy for engaging rural voters was, "Show up and listen."
Today's #SenateAg committee hearing showed that many Democrats took that advice seriously.
Now the 2022 rural strategy seems to be, "Show up with a plan and bring receipts.

Native American women are more than 2x as likely to die.
Women in rural America are about 60% more likely to die.

Like other epidemics (tobacco, opioids, fast food), COVID starts with the wealthy who travel and are trendy (also us). Then it spreads among the poor. Action protects the rich. Once protected, notenough is done for those left behind, sad how epidemic disparities repeat themselves

I wonder if the higher prevalence of smoking in Europe is a major factor explaining the high number of severe #COVID19 cases and deaths in Europe, in particular in Spain. This will be another of the many important lessons for us to learn from this tragedy.
